From diagnosis to today (6 months post-op) my experience with Virginia Spine Institute has been a blessing. The knowledge of the staff is amazing and the way they are able to explain everything to me makes it very clear to understand. There is NO other facility in the world that I would trust with spinal issues other than VSI.

Six years ago, I had serious back issues with my neck and my low back from 20 years as a Green Beret. I did a lot of research on spinal surgeons, as I didn't want just anyone touching my spine. VSI has amazing surgeons, Pain Management, Physical Therapy, and R&D. Dr. Schuler leads all of this. Dr. Schuler did all the testing and therapy, but in the end I needed surgery. He did both my neck and low back. Best decision I ever made. I was pain free for the first time in many years thanks to Dr. Schuler and was able to resume working out, playing golf, and a lot of travel. Recently, I had another disc that deteriorated and ruptured. Even though I no longer live in the area, there is no one I trust more than Dr. Schuler and traveled back to have him do another low back fusion with amazing next gen technology! I am one Happy Happy patient!! :-)

Dr. Schuler and his team take time to listen to you. Never feel hurried and honestly wants to help you feel better. Explores different options instead of just jumping in to surgery. Highly recommend and have referred many people to him.

Dr. Schuler has performed 3 surgeries on me over a several year period. I sent 4-5 people to him and all have returned to normal health after their surgery. I would not go to any other surgeon for spinal issues. Both he and his staff are all an A+ on my list!
