The word "Doctor" is originally an agentive noun of the Latin verb doc?re 'to teach'. I take that meaning very seriously. I enjoy teaching my patients about their specific oral condition and all available treatment options. This teaching then allows a relationship to develop between myself and my patient that, many times, lasts several years. If we all have the same treatment expectations then success is more easily achieved.
