Very pleased
Dr. Lawthorne did my neck surgery in 2015 and I was very pleased. Now I’m in need of another one not related to the 1st one and I wouldn’t think of going to anyone but Dr. Lawthorne. He explains everything very well, excellent bed side manner and takes his time listening and answering my questions.

Every patient has their own options and opinions.
I was 64 as Dr. Lawhorne performed back surgery , had a bad time after the surgery due to constant back pain . When I went in for my recheck I explained the constant pain. Dr. Lawhorne stated WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? Incorrect question for a doctor to ask. My husband said I need help with constant pain since the surgery. Dr. Lawhorne stated that he could not do anything!!! Went to main office and collected my husband’s medical records, I did my research and found a great orthopedic surgeon at another facility. This doctor correct the problem after another surgery and since then my husband has been fine. Well please with the surgeon I researched.

No time for me
Dr. Lawhorne had not even read my Lumbar MRI. Had one foot out the door since I was not a candidate for surgery. Won’t be back.

Best spinal doctor I've visited
Dr Lawhorne treated my cervical spine issue on 9/27/22. So, I returned for my lumbar spine issue. Dr Lawhorne explained what my MRI revealed thoroughly. He explained what our next treatment step was and we discussed what type of possible surgery MAY be needed in the future.

Great doctor
I went in for lower back pain. Dr. Lawhorne did an x ray right away, throughly explained my issues. He took the time to go over all my options and explain what happens next in the process. He was very knowledgeable and definitely personable. This was my first time seeing him and I was definitely pleased.

Dr. Thomas Lawhorne is a caring, professional that I can highly recommend. He is not real chatty but he will take the time to answer all your questions in language that you can understand. I think he is far more than competent as a surgeon. He and his staff tried to accommodate me as much as possible with my limitations. I have total confidence in his abilities as a surgeon. I can certainly recommend him without hesitation.

Almost the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Contradicted everything I told him. Fusion looks good he says when you can barely see it on the x-ray for my shoulder being in the way. He just takes a quick glance at it. I was a candidate for surgery five years ago when I would be ready for it. Also had two other neurosurgeons tell me I had a fibrous non-fusion. I didn't just make it up. Then tells me I can't have AS because only men get it and I don't have bamboo spine. Women do get it and not every patient has bamboo spine. He never once manipulated my legs or arms to check where my pain was coming from. Now my neck pain is getting almost unbearable. And a waste of $350.00 I could use to see a good doctor.
