This was my first visit with Dr. Highland. I was very impressed. He was very thorough. He asked me various questions about my back then followed up with x-rays. Afterward he took me to see the X-rays and explained what I was looking at in detail. Then he discussed what I’ll be doing for back. He gave me all the information to set up an appointment with a specific PT.

I love Columbia Orthopedic Group! They are knowledgeable, practical, caring and comforting. They have never let me down, of course they aren't perfect, but they strive to be the best they can. Dr. Thomas Highland has treated my back for years and later, surgery. He didn't rush me into it and walked me through the whole process. His staff is fabulous. Dr. Highland also treated my dad and others I've known and he's been the same with all of them. I trust him completely. Done hesitate to call!

Dr Highland has treated me since 1996. He's performed 9 spinal surgeries on me. That should tell you I trust him & his knowledge, diagnostic skills, & surgical skills. I didn't even sit down in the waiting room yesterday I was called back so quick. I waited in the exam room maybe 2 min before he saw me.

I am giving Dr. Highland the highest rating of professionalism and care....He is so detailed and has been a life saver for our family, in which my three siblings have had critical back surgeries. Even though mine is not severe, I feel blessed to know I'm under the best care possible. It would be a shame and loss if the great Dr. Highland ever retired! Sincerely, Yvonne Howell

I have been a patient of Dr. Highland's for over 20 years. There has never been a time that I went away with the feeling that my discomfort or pain was taken lightly. Every time I have been treated with respect and care by Dr. Highland, Denise and the x-ray technicians. Dr.H. never gives the feeling that he's not listening or is too rushed to spend time with my needs. I want to give a big THANKS to him and all the staff I have dealt with.

I been going to Dr Highland over 30 years, I trust him totally. He done surgery on my back & neck. I see him every 4 months. He's kind and patient and he answers all my questions. He has done the steriod shots, very skilled at that, and his does his best to make it as painless as possible. When new pain or change in xrays we go over everything to fix or find out the problems. I like he lets me decide my treatments I think best for me. He's amazing and I highly recommend. Jacqueline Brown

Dr Highland answers all of my questions. I've been seeing him for 25 years with back and neck issues. He has always provided solutions whether it be physical therapy or injections for inflammation. I value his opinion and would opt for surgery if needed. He has never pressed for me to have surgery. I trust him 100%.

I was pleased with Dr Highland, but the final results are still pending. After several weeks of PT, I am not very happy with the outcome. My sciatic pain is good some time, but mostly bad; especially in the morning. I do pretty well when we walk, but sitting & standing, not so good! Sleeping is also very painful as I can't seem to find a comfortable position.

I am a repeat customer, so I'm obviously very pleased! Dr. Highland and his team are knowledgeable, thorough, and make the entire process centered around his patients. I live in the Bootheel of Missouri, but wouldn't consider any other Orthopaedist for my complicated issues. Prior to retiring, I was a nurse, so therefore, I can offer my personal as well as professional opinion. One cannot find another physician any better than Dr. Tom!
