He is the worst. Thank god he’s gone. He about killed me twice. Honest to god the guy never read a chart because he’s “been doing this for 30years”.. Apparently too long because he needed out of that profession specialty.

He had my pain in check. When he left, the replacement “doctors” didn’t have a clue what to do. They are not patient advocates.

Unfortunately he disappeared from Iowa Clinic with no letter to patients and they claim to know nothing further. My review has nothing to do with Dr. Hansen end everything to do with the current status of the Pain Management clinic.

Dr. Hansen helped me with injection therapy for nerve root pain in my lower back. Communication after imaging was zero and apparently he had not read my chart when I saw him in April 2017 because he chided me for not doing my core exercises when I had just had abdominal surgery in late March. He was weird on an interpersonal level but I think he knows what he is doing. I am relieved to have a new, more attentive provider.

I am totally heartsick that Dr. Hansen is not practicing at The Iowa Clinic. I have been going to him for years. He is an extremely kind, caring, and the most knowledgeable Dr. I have ever known. He and his office staff, who are just as nice have all gone out of their way to accommodate me. I loathe the fact Dr. Tom isn’t there anymore. You people who are mad mouthing him are more than likely drug seekers. Dr. Tom is the very best Dr. I know!!!

In the 18+ years I have engaged Dr. Hansen and his team, I have had only positive experiences, I suffer from serious back pain in several points along my spine. Dr H always advocated for the most conservative options first. He also guided me through the difficult & confusing options when surgical specialists needed to be brought in. He speaks in a direct fashion, which not all appreciate as I do. I am very sad to hear he's stopped practicing. Does anyone know why?

I feel it is unfortunate that he is no longer at the IA Clinic. I enjoyed coming to get my injections from him. He was always cheerful and made me feel relaxed. Having pain for so many years and coming to him for relief was a blessing.

I would be more than delighted to participate. This guy has no business being a pain management doctor or even a doctor period. His trigger point injections are a joke because he doesn't hit the right pain areas. Never explains that when nerves regenerate after ablation, it is hell on earth. He doesn't read patient's charts so he directly caused me two hospitalizations. He later prescribed an anti arrhythmia medication that could have killed me! I have no respect for this man!

This man left my husband and I alone for over an hour after my legs went numb..it was traumatic to finally roll off the table into my husband and wheelchair. I tried to get another pain management Dr and he denied my care because Hansen had in my file that I was a potential for addiction. On the same visit he increased my codiene dosage. I have so much more to share if anyone wants to help put him in a courtroom.

This had to be the worst medical experience I have ever had. He came in the room & didn't introduce him self, just started rudely accosting me with questions, it was very evident he had no idea of my medical/surgical history based on these questions, while he swore he had read my chart. He kept interrupting my questions & concerns, then proceeded to 'sell' me on other treatments, like a salesman. I declined all options and left. I won't take a dead animal to him for an autopsy.

The IA clinic doesn't care about their patients and they don't care if they have their pain medication. I was told to change pharmacies, which I did. I also was trying to find a pharmacy that had my medication in stock, which I did and I still was dismissed as a patient from the IA clinic. I had a valid prescription given 3 months in advance by my PA. I was blamed by the clinic saying they have " trust issues" with me. I have been a patient for 5 plus years without any issues & passing UA's

This guy does not have a bedside manner, contradicted other doctor findings, refused to pursue treatment plan and thinks everyone is just there to see him for opiates. Rude. Does not listen to patient or other doctors.

Dr Hansen worries more about liability when his PA flips me off the table. So then I had no pain control and was super sick, other wise. If he wanted me in for a pill count, I would definitely be there. Not afraid. I don't take too m uch of my meds EVER. and OxyContin and oxycodone have NEVER worked gfesz
