I found Dr. Gillespie online & was encouraged by the glowing reviews. I said, "He's my guy!" At my initial consult, I found him to be very pleasant & extremely knowledgeable about hernias, which was why I chose to see him. He didn't rush, but explained my hernia problems, gave me options for the surgery I needed & explained the procedure thoroughly. I was so impressed when he chatted with me before the surgery. I knew that I was in good hands. He's also a med prof & mentor, one of the Good Guys!

Genuine, compassionate, thorough and caring are just but a few of the characteristics this skilled surgeon exhibited during my recent surgical encounter. My care, from the initial consultation to the post surgical follow-up visit could not have been more professional. Dr. Gillespie truly cares about your overall well being. I could not have had better care.

Dr. Gillespie performed a repair of a double inguinal hernia Feb. 20, 2019. This was a robotic procedure and my first medical experience in Arizona. Being a snowbird from the Boston Massachusetts area I’ve been exposed to great medical care al my life. Dr. Gillespie kept me totally informed beginning to end. Did a great job and has a wonderful way of conveying information in a conversational way. I don’t hesitate in recommending him for any surgery related to hernias or the abdomen.

I was referred to Dr. Gillespie for an abdominal hernia and the consult went well. Dr. Gillespie made sure I understood the process in terms I could understand. The day of my surgery was exceptional, they used a TAP block to minimize the pain and after surgery I was able to get home and rest without discomfort or addictive narcotics for the pain. I highly recommend Dr. Gillespie and his entire service to anyone who requires surgery and wants the very best!

Dr. Gillespie is a an excellent Dr. And a beautiful person! He did a cutting edge surgery on my husband. A surgery for a condition that only 1 in 1000 people with abdominal pain are diagnosed with. I trusted him 100% with my husband's life! God bless this man!

Dr. Gillespie performed a hernia repair for me in January ‘18, and I was extremely impressed with him and his staff. He carefully explained everything, answered all of my questions in detail, and even got to know me a little. The best surgical experience I have had....highly recommended!

Recently I went to see Dr. Gillespie with a long-standing surgical problem. It was one of those issues I just wanted to avoid. Dr. Gillespie made me feel comfortable. I had already done a tremendous amount of research before I met him. Interestingly, what he said was supported by my own independent research.I felt very comfortable making my decision and proceeded with surgery.I had early and frequent follow up in his office, and have had an outcome that exceeded my expectations. Thumbs up Dr. G!

First and foremost, I am very happy I was referred to Dr. Gillespie. He is an outstanding surgeon and a real gentleman. He accurately diagnosed my problem and confidently cured me. I am now three years recovered from a very complicated and difficult hernia repair. I am finally back to my old life. I can exercise and have finally gotten the extra weight off. Thank you for caring and going the extra distance. Thumbs up and my highest recommendation.

We found Dr. Gillespie to be very cautious, detail orientated, and takes the time to talk to you. He removed my gall bladder in a laparoscopic procedure. Because of the number of stones and the size he typed and cross matched me for blood and warned I might need an open procedure. All turned well though. He kept me in for one night due to nausea after the surgery. We feel he always has your best interests at heart. I will be using him to fix my hernias next. Great office staff as well.

I really want let Dr. Gillespie know how appreciative of all he has done. I had multiple surgeries on my abdomen and had many hernia repairs. Unfortunately I had a recurrence of my hernia. I was referred to another surgeon who thankfully referred me to Dr. Gillespie. First he performed a colonoscopy because it was over 10 years since I had my last one. He found a big precancerous polyp. He fixed my hernia by doing a muscle separation technique with mesh. I do sit-ups now! - JUST THANK YOU

He is arrogant and I was not properly diagnosed. So happy I went for a second opinion and got the surgery that I needed. Dr. Gillespie performed two previous surgeries on me and I know for sure I would never see him again.

I have had two surgeries by Dr. Gillespie - one emergency and one elective. Both times he explained everything to me before and after surgery' listened to my concerns and answered ALL of my questions.
