Dr. Ehmke's bio
This content was provided by Dr. Ehmke "Dr. Ehmke is a fellowship trained board certified joint replacement surgeon specializing in minimally invasive hip, knee and shoulder replacement. He did his fellowship at the world-renowned Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, MD, where he spent an intense year focusing on both routine and complicated joint replacements. Dr. Ehmke uses the latest techniques and technological advances in joint replacement. These include robotic assisted hip and knee replacements with MAKO™, the muscle sparing anterior approach to hip replacement, and ConforMIS™ custom knee replacements, which are 3D printed to match the unique size and shape of each patient's knee. These advanced techniques allow his patients to not only have a shorter recovery with less pain, but also give them a joint replacement that feels more natural. In addition, Dr. Ehmke has specialized training in evaluating and treating previous joint replacements that are painful or infected. Dr. Ehmke also does complicated joint replacement cases such as patients with prior surgery on their hip or knee, or born with unique anatomy. Dr. Ehmke also takes care of other conditions of the hip and knee that may be done with an arthroscopic procedure, such as labral tears of the hip and meniscus tears of the knee. Dr. Ehmke has published research and has presented it at national meetings. He has also served as faculty for national courses to teach residents how to do hip and knee replacements. Dr. Ehmke is affiliated with Silver Cross Hospital and Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center."
