Dr. Corcoran graduated Harvard University on an academic scholarship and received his degree with honors. He earned his M.D. degree from New York University. Dr. Corcoran has been performing surgery in Philadelphia since 1989. Dr. Corcoran performed 5 years of extensive orthopaedic training at the University of Pennsylvania. Based on his excellence in training, he was awarded a one year fellowship to continue at UPenn. Dr. Corcoran's expertise has been sought to train younger physicians. He has been an orthopaedic clinical instructor at Hahnemann University, The University of Pennsylvania, and AriaHealth System. Dr. Corcoran has published more than 20 scientific projects in the field of orthopaedics. Dr. Corcoran is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Harvard Alumni Association, the NYU Alumni Association, and the Louis August Jonas Foundation Alumni Association. At AriaHealth, Dr. Corcoran is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Team and performs complex surgery of the upper and lower extremity. Dr. Corcoran performs joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopy, sports surgery, joint reconstruction, fracture surgery, and tendon, muscle, and ligament repair. Dr. Corcoran is respected and has been a physician leader at Aria Hospital: President of the Medical Staff Chairman, Performance Improvement Committee Chairman, Quality and Professional Committee of the Board of Directors Director, AriaHealth Board Attending Physician, Department of Surgery Dr. Corcoran has served as a team physician for high level athletes during his career: NFL, Philadelphia Eagles University of Pennsylvania Varsity Football University of Pennsylvania Men's Varsity Basketball University of Pennsylvania Women's Varsity Basketball Drexel University Varsity Men's Basketball Dr. Corcoran's goal is to bring his extensive expertise and background to the care of each individual patient.
