Dr. Corcoran graduated Harvard University on an academic scholarship and received his degree with honors. He earned his M.D. degree from New York University. Dr. Corcoran has been performing surgery in Philadelphia since 1989. Dr. Corcoran performed 5 years of extensive orthopaedic training at the University of Pennsylvania. Based on his excellence in training, he was awarded a one year fellowship to continue at UPenn. Dr. Corcoran's expertise has been sought to train younger physicians. He has been an orthopaedic clinical instructor at Hahnemann University, The University of Pennsylvania, and AriaHealth System. Dr. Corcoran has published more than 20 scientific projects in the field of orthopaedics. Dr. Corcoran is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Harvard Alumni Association, the NYU Alumni Association, and the Louis August Jonas Foundation Alumni Association. At AriaHealth, Dr. Corcoran is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Team and performs complex surgery of the upper and lower extremity. Dr. Corcoran performs joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopy, sports surgery, joint reconstruction, fracture surgery, and tendon, muscle, and ligament repair.
