Don’t.
Honestly if I could give no stars I would. TO SUM: Don’t go to Dr. Thomas Cook, especially if you’re a brown woman. This white male doctor decided he knew what was best for me, sent me to someone with no experience in the assessment I asked him for, and still I ended up paying him and Dr. Denise Marques $300+ to tell me “You have trauma,” (like I didn’t know that?) give me an outdated ASD assessment, and misgender me in an official report after making a point to ask my pronouns. The next person I was assessed by I made sure was someone who had also been diagnosed later in life, and understood all of the diagnostic failings. After the INITIAL assessment measures they gave me (ALL SPECIFIC TO AUTISM) they told me STATISTICALLY THE PROBABILITY OF MY HAVING AUTISM IS IN THE 98th PERCENTILE. In other words, the chance Dr. Cook was right to send me to a specialist I didn’t ask for: 2%.

I dont like going to doctors. Especially when it comes to opening up. Trust issues perhaps? I found after 3 sessions with Dr. Cook, I can be straightforward with him without judgment. He has ALWAYS pulled through for me. His staff, they are really understanding people. I was in the waiting room one time and was not feeling well. I started medication in the waiting room with a attitude. After talking with Doc, I felt the need to give a sincere apology. We are all good now.

I met him for the first time last week and was quite impressed. I think he is very bright and absolutely fantastic . For the first time in many many years I have hope. I am an RN and I can tell you that everything I’ve seen more then meets the standards, this goes for the people that work in the front offices and including Dr. Cook’s assistant Dee-It was a breath of fresh air and extremely knowledgeable. I know I’m in the right place.

I sent my son to this doctor after knowing pretty much what his diagnosis was based on other psychiatrist and doing research. He didn’t even let my son get everything out that he needed to tell him in order to properly diagnose him. My son is extremely disappointed as was I. I do not recommend him at all!

Incredibly down to earth, gregarious and easy to talk too. He doesnt elicit as much as a modicum of condescension, regardless of whatever you tell him. Great psychiatrist, great guy.

Very positive. I was scared to see a psychiatrist for the first time. Dr. Cook, his staff and even his patients were so supportive and kind. It was not what I had expected.
