Excellent surgeon- advanced techniques
Recent colectomy, Dr Lakshman used robotic da Vinci minimally invasive surgery which results in a quicker recovery. Dr was personable and answered questions. Based on my recovery he did an outstanding job with my surgery and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing this surgery. Two hospital nurses sang his praises as well without my even asking for their opinion- a good sign. His Office staff is subpar, as most seem to be these days, but this review is for Dr alone.

Dr. Lakshman was on standby and performed an appendectomy as part of my Endometriosis excision and total hysterectomy in April 2021 (the latter part of which was performed by an excision/Endo specialist named Dr. Devin Garza). I felt like he did not fully prepare me for his involvement so I was confused about the basic plan and then unable to get in touch with his staff about it prior to surgery (after my consult with him) as no one would return my patient portal message (they answered ONE of my questions in the portal EVENTUALLY but not ALL and then would not get back to me) or call me back (getting ahold of someone there can be a real challenge obviously). They told me they were working to get their phone lines back in order so hopefully that is working now but the whole time I was a patient communication was not effective most of the time and that was extremely frustrating. I felt like he was somewhat dismissive and not much willing to help me (he only gave recommendations of

This doctor is fabulous. He is very knowledgeable in his speciality. I had surgery with him and found him to be very warm, caring, and easy to talk to. Even my friends waiting for me through the surgery found him to be very nice and thoughtful.

Although I found Dr. Lakshman to be an excellent surgeon I did not find his office staff to hold the same standard. Many times I called the office and no one ever answered the phones nor did a recording come on to leave a message. I had surgery three weeks ago and still haven’t been able to make my follow up appointment. Before surgery I called multiple time to address some presurgery questions and the same thing occurred. I think it was three days before I was able to get someone. I find this to be unacceptable.

Excellent explanation on how certain things work in our anatomy when it comes to our GI system and colo-rectal system,he explains on how we should be in taking daily fiber and drinking plenty of water, he is the best at what he does for all his patient's, he's a colo-rectal surgeon and like any surgeon their schedules are hectic, he tends to keep it all together the best way possible to accommodate his patient's with the help of his staff. I will wait for him as long as possible, he's timing is priceless when it comes to my health.

Dr. Lakshman is the perfect combination of knowledge in his field as well as having an outstanding bedside manner. He makes you feel extremely comfortable during your office visit in what can be an uncomfortable situation. I was extremely fortunate to find what I consider to be the best Colorectal doctor in all of Central Texas. I highly recommend him to all of my friends and family. He is quite simply the best in his field.

Got Lower Anterior Resection done 2 months back by Dr. Lakshman. He is is a great surgeon. Very straightforward and nice person. He is very approachable and responsive. I was getting responses within 30 minutes for any questions I had for him pre-surgery. Surgery and recovery process was much quicker and smoother than I expected. Thanks Doc.

Dr. Lakshman is indeed the BEST Colon & Rectal Surgeon there is. If you are facing this type surgery, this is your doctor. HE is outstanding, has great bedside manners, explains things in a down to earth way so easy to understand. I had my surgery on 2/6/18 at North Austin Medical Center (what a great facility with the most caring staff) and am so pleased with how everything went. Thank you again Dr. Lakshman!
