Doctor Burns is the best doctor in the US. For five years we have travelled all over the country to some of the most famous institutions and doctors, in pursuit of a diagnosis. No one was as considerate, thorough, and brilliant as Dr. Burns. I can't say enough; bedside manner, diligent review of reports (during and outside of his hours), and finally, a conclusion no one else could come up with.

Doctor Ted Burns is a very caring and passionate individual. He has been my doctor since I was diagnosed with ALS – Lou Gehrig’s disease – in September 2018. He is very knowledgeable and always takes his time to answer any questions and or concerns I have. I can easily reach him either by phone or e-mail. He is the best and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

The personal attention and sincere interest in my condition shown by Dr. Burns helped us to develop a trust level that I give very few doctors. I trust his advice, his expertise, and his judgment. I have made a friend, as well as submitting to, in my judgment, a damn good doctor.

Dr. Burns is the best doctor with whom I have ever worked. He is incredibly kind and brilliant. He has provided consistent communication as we work towards a diagnosis, and I trust him implicitly. As I have moved across UVA departments, everyone who hears that Dr. Burns is my neurologist shares their own story of a time he has helped them, and how highly they regard him. His assistant, Pam, is also amazing. They are a wonderful team that truly makes you feel like you are part of a family.

Dr. Burns has been my physician since 2012. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and empathetic. I have never had a physician take the time and effort to explain things and answer questions like Dr. Burns. He is very personable and cares deeply for his patients. There are few physicians that are as caring, courteous, and kind as Dr. Burns and I am blessed to have him in my life.

Look no further if you need a neurologist. Dr. Burns is not your typical doctor. He has been caring for my husband for over four years and we cannot say enough good about him. He is interested in the person and not making money off of the person. How many doctors would email you right back when you ask a question? He keeps up with us like he would his own parents. He is also brilliant and has a wonderful bedside manner. God blessed us with him.

Dr. Burns may be the most adept and knowledgeable physician in treating Myasthenia Gravis (MG). The tests, medications and education that I have received from Dr. Burns have put my life on track to where I can function almost fully with my life and daily routines. Not only is he brilliant, he is a gentleman with a friendly bedside manner. Also, he has produced and/or helped to produce all of the podcasts in the MyMG App. I would highly recommend him to anyone dealing with MG including family.

Dr. Burns is an enormously proficient neurologist. In addition to being an expert in his specialty, he is patient-centered; he is fully present and listens to his patients, affording them dignity and allowing them to participate in their care and decision-making. And he appears to be a great mentor. He and his Fellow/Residents have done a remarkable job of managing my myasthenia gravis.

Dr. Burns is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctors I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of doctors! I suffered from neuropathy from complications with ovarian cancer. He was not my regular doctor, but he was recommended to me and saw me the same day, fitting me into his busy clinic schedule. I cannot say enough about how thorough he was and what a gifted listener. He was able to give me excellent guidance so that I could make an informed decision about my treatment.

Dr. Ted Burns is an amazing doctor. He actually is my second opinion, in a way. He consulted with my other neurologist (who doesn't work at UVA or even a facility related to UVA) for many hours and many times before I even became a patient of his. He takes the time to listen and do much research even after hours. He has a wonderful bedside manner and treats you like a person and not a number. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a neuro doctor.
