This content was provided by Dr. Simuni "Dr. Simuni is an Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Professor of Neurology and Director of the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Simuni leads a multidisciplinary movement disorders center that is recognized by the Parkinson Foundation as a Center of Excellence and serves as a training model in the region. She is the lead investigator of a number of clinical trials on experimental pharmacology, non-motor manifestations, and pharmacological and surgical management of PD including a multicenter phase 3 clinical trial supported by a multimillion dollar grant from the National Institute of Health of a potential disease-modifying agent in early PD. Dr. Simuni is a board-certified neurologist and trained in Parkinson's and Movement Disorders. The most common movement disorders she sees are Parkinson's disease, tremors, atypical parkinsonism, tardive dyskinesia, and tic disorders. She has extensive clinical and research experience with these conditions, and works with a multidisciplinary team of experts which includes a clinical nurse, social worker, genetic counselor, and rehabilitation team. Additionally, she has extensive experience performing botulinum toxin ("botox") injections for various conditions including dystonia, spasticity, facial spasms, and migraines. "
