I went to Dr Damani with a ventral hernia for a consult. I had the hernia for many years but it had suddenly started causing me discomfort every day and limiting my usual activities. I saw her at NYU and although I did have to wait a little while to see her I found her to be highly professional and immensely knowledgeable. With just a couple of prods she was able to tell me exactly what was going on and how she would address it As a professional in the fitness industry I would have no hesitation recommending her to anyone with a similar condition.

I had a obstructed bowl in small intestine and I was recommended to Dr Damani and truly one of the best decisions in my life choosing her. She is the most kind and gentle human being that truly cares about the well being of her patient. Her surgery skills are second to none. Her whole staff including surgery team and Anastasia team down to the most amazing nurses who helped me every day were just AMAZING to say the least.
In all honesty if your searching for a surgeon you've found the best here

The worst experience! Dr. Damani was rude and unprofessional from the moment she entered the room. After an over 1 hr wait, she tried to funnel me to a nurse practitioner, and was mad that I asked to see her instead. This despite my gastroenterologist's making the appointment specifically with her for a worsening inguinal hernia, since she's the hospital's one gastro surgeon! I was spoken to with disrespect; never greeted or asked about my condition. NOT a compassionate or caring doctor!

First off Dr. Damani has a great bedside manner. She took extra time to explain everything to me in a manner I could understand. Everything she did was well above par. Also her follow-up advice and care was great. I would recommend her to anyone needing that type of surgery!
