Dr. Syed Zaidi focuses on evaluation and management of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders with special interests in managing non-surgical orthopaedic and spine cases, as well as pre-op and post-op medical management and rehabilitation. Patients can make appointments with him at the B.A.C.K. Center offices in Melbourne and Merritt Island, Florida.
Dr.Zaidi received his medical degree from CUNY Medical School in New York. His internship in Internal Medicine was completed at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was completed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.
During Dr. Zaidi's 20-year career, he has participated in research and clinical trials involving anticoagulation protocols in patients undergoing joint replacements; and he has written and/or presented research findings relating to cervicogenic headaches, using Botox to treat idiopathic toe-walking in children and eliminating the blind spot for elderly patients, among other areas of study. In 1994, Dr. Zaidi was a Mack Lipkin Fellow, studying "Neutrophil Adhesion and Nitric Oxide Synthesis" at the William Harvey Institute in London, England.
