He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Midwestern University, College of Health Sciences in Downers Grove, Illinois. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has been in private practice of psychiatry for more than 40 years. Dr. Ali is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in Psychiatry. He is an Attending Psychiatrist at Linden Oaks Hospital and Edward Hospital, Naperville, Illinois. He is a Member of the American Psychiatric Association, Illinois Psychiatric Society and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law. Dr. Ali has been court appointed as an expert in the field of Forensic Psychiatry in more than four hundred cases. He has testified in Cook, Will, Livingston, McHenry, LaSalle and DuPage Counties. He has been court appointed on issues related to insanity defense, fitness to stand trial, custody, divorce proceedings, guardianship and other areas of psychiatry involving legal matters. He has also published and given lectures in this area. Since the time of his Residency in Psychiatry, at Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago, now affiliated with University of Illinois, Dr. Ali has been involved with clinical research and teaching.
