I am a general pediatrician at Duke Childrens Primary Care. Ive been at Duke for about 20 years and my husband and three children love living in the Durham area. When caring for a child I involve the childs parents at all steps in the health care process. Parents are such an important part of the health care team. I always start each visit by asking the parent if they have any questions or concerns. After listening to the parent and answering any questions they may have I then proceed with the physical exam. My favorite part of being a doctor is seeing children develop from babies into healthy adults. When I have patients whom Ive treated from the time they were infants through their college graduation it is special feeling. I also love seeing my patients when they are older and have started their own families. It is so rewarding to see the second generation of babies! In my spare time I enjoy hiking cooking traveling and spending time with friends and family.
