Dr. Jacobi has been wonderful in the frustrating process of getting a definitive diagnosis (seronegative RA). She always takes her time with me, listens to my concerns & questions & gives me many options & a say in my treatment regimen. She has recognized my frustration with this illness & is empathetic & compassionate. I couldn't have gotten through this without her. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobi.
in West Des Moines, IA |
This is by far the worst doctor I have met. She treats people like trash. Has no interest in hearing your questions, concerns, or opinion. She is always on a hurry and so detach is like her body is there but her mind is somewhere else. If you need a Dr please find someone else don't waste your time with her!!! You will have more empathy from a rock than from her.

I asked if she thought I'd get back to work, response, I don't have a crystal ball. When I cried she asked what's happening here?I have ra & my life felt like it was falling apart. She wanted my dr. To give me me the shingles shot after being on prednisone. (nearly4mo.) Sick nearly 3 weeks& no communication about it.

Dr Jacobi does not seem to like to be asked any questions and, in my opinion, demonstrates defensiveness and even some hostility when questions are asked. The type of questions I am referring to are basic ones to help with my comprehension of my condition and not of the nature of challenging the Dr's judgment. Also sometimes I feel that appointments are rushed and I do not feel any benefit as a result. On another note, the lab people have always been very friendly and efficient.

She was very nice, kind and caring. Took the time to listen and discuss my problem and was informative. Told me step by step what was going to happen next. Very friendly atmosphere...from waiting room to Doctor to lab to scheduling.
in Des Moines, IA |
She was rude, did not listen to my concerns/issues, under minded my opinion/circumstances. I had lab results that needed addressed, had to call twicw to get my results over the phone and still have not recieved my written results, called twice and has been over a month. Never again!
in Pella, IA |
I'd give no stars if it was an option. The Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center specifically Dr. Susan Jacobi is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I was in the room 2 hours and she spent no more than 10 minutes with me because she kept walking out. She will not give me the medication I have a referral for. She says go back to Mayo She treated me like she knew my body and I didn't. How does this woman still practice medicine?!
