I work in the capacity of Clinic Director for a primary care free clinic and have the pleasure of having Dr. Herson volunteer as a physician with the practice. Dr. Herson is immensely knowledgeable, kind, and giving and provides our patients with comprehensive, excellent care. Dr. Herson is an invaluable asset to the clinic and the patients and we are fortunate to have her be part of our mission in keeping our patients healthy.

I met Dr. Herson in Uganda. I am a second year Canadian medical student who was volunteering with the same organization. I had the pleasure of observing Dr. Herson work with patients in rural Uganda. Dr. Herson was not only aware of current conditions and treatment options in a resource poor location, but she was culturally appropriate, and patient centered. Dr. Herson is a very positive and influential woman, who I hope to have the honor of working with on team in the future.

I worked with Dr. Herson on a medical disaster relief mission in Saipan. I thought that she had an amazing manner with her patients, made sound medical decisions and was an awesome team member. The community loved Dr. Susan. I would love to work with her again and think anyone would be lucky to have her taking care of them.

I got to see Dr. Herson work in person on a mission trip to Ethiopia in January 2014. She played a pivotal role in helping coordinate medical care at the Konso Karat hospital clinic. Her experience and knowledge in travel medicine came in very handy in dealing with a lot of the patients seen. On a personal note, she is a very down to earth and endearing.
Armonk, NY |
Dr. Herson spends time to carefully understand my concerns and resolves things to my satisfaction in a single visit. Too many doctors treat patients with little concern for their non medical needs. Dr. Herson treats me like a person. She waits for me, stays as long as needed, and makes certain that she has resolved my issues. My mother doesn't like doctors, except for Dr.Herson. She was careful and patient with her, and took care of her issues with a single visit.
As a member of a team working with Dr. Herson in Ethiopia, her professionalism, accuracy and concern for her patients was invaluable. She is comfortable working in challenging environments where creativity and flexibility are necessary. She would be a great asset to any team.

As a practicing pharmacist and medical student, I had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks with Dr. Herson in Uganda last year where I witnessed her meticulousness in formulating a diagnosis and determining appropriate care based on the available resources in our community. In addition to her medical expertise, I also witnessed excellent bedside manner in which she managed to help some of the most vulnerable (in the world) patients feel at ease. I have no hesitations in recommending Dr. Herson.

Dr. Herson provided what I can only describe as OUTSTANDING medical attention, care, and guidance for my husband when he was assaulted and experienced two subarachnoid hemorrhages, a broken orbital bone, and a broken finger. Dr. Herson followed our case through to diagnose my husband's diplopia and had very helpful suggestions for ways in which we could navigate the maze of specialists and support groups. She also attended to his hand weakness and physical therapy progress.
She was uninterested in my concerns or questions. When I questioned her on a change of treatment she was making, she became upset and started to assert her credentials. The experience was very stressful.
