Evidentially, Covenant (Mercy One's) Mental Health Unit has been highly deficient, largely because of this psychiatrist/hospitalist for over a decade. She doesn't care to listen to patients or collect important healthcare history before diagnosing and treating. If you really only need a safe place for two days, and don't mind that the only thing that will be done if you are agitated is be sedated with Haldol shots in the butt so you don't have a chance talking with Dr. Kantamneni, even if she really wanted to listen anyway, then go to Mercy One (Covenant) for mental health. Otherwise avoid at all costs! I've never met any worse psychiatrist. I feel all previous reviews were accurate and familiar to my experience.

This doctor has a horrible bedside manner. She saw my daughter in ICU for about 1 minute. She didn't ask questions or attempt to get to know my daughter's situation. She refused to listen to me. She also refused to contact my daughter's psychiatrist before she admitted my daughter to mental health floor. She admitted to forgetting to give her meds, which delayed her stay for another 24 hours. She should have spoken with my daughter's current psychiatrist. We will never see/recommend her!

Covenant Medical Center Mental Health Unit was pathetic largely in part of Dr. Kantamneni. After a suicide attempt she spent a total of two minutes with the patient over a two day period. The facility was no more than a holding pen with only a TV and drugs for therapy.
