My experience with Dr.Jeff Stigen was outstanding. He performed the second arthroscopic procedure on my right knee in 20 years. The first procedure was satisfactory but I did have painful recurrences for about 5 years after that surgery. Since Dr. Jeff Stigen worked on me I have had no pain whatsoever. He told me that at my age at the time (60) full recovery would take a year. He was exactly correct. I am now in need of carpal tunnel release surgery and will be requesting him!

I broke my ankle on 12/20 and had my follow up with Dr Stitgen on 12/22. During that time, Dr Stitgen missed a gap on the initial xray from the ER, which indicated I needed surgery. Instead, I was put in a cast and told to make an appointment for the following week with his Physician Assistant for another xray. At that appointment on 12/30, I was told I needed surgery right away instead of being put in a cast. My "healing" was delayed by 2 weeks because I chose the wrong "specialist".

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
