I see Dr Bloom for prostate cancer. He was referred to me by my PCP, as I was unhappy with previous urologist whom I'd been seeing. Very limited conversations and ability for input. I have been working in health care for 46 years. Dr Bloom is as good as I've seen. Very lucky to have him for my provider.

My last visit was over the phone. We discussed the results of tests taken. As always, Dr. Bloom explained the results in a clear way and answered whatever questions I had. This is going on my 4th year of being cancer free. My success is due to Dr. Bloom's expertise in knowing what to do right from the start.

Dr. Stuart Bloom was my oncologist when I went through my 2nd bout with breast cancer. I trusted his treatment plan without any hesitation. I found him to be personable as well as professional, and I would highly recommend him for your treatment of cancer. Should I be re-diagnosed again with cancer, Dr. Bloom will be my first call to set up an appointment.

After I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, a doctor friend told me to see an oncologist before choosing a treatment, and recommended Dr. Bloom. He gave me the facts without bias about radiation and surgery, and when I chose one he set me up at the Piper clinic at Abbott Northwestern. After I was designated as cured, he followed up for two years. I found him to be calm, caring and funny, which was exactly what I needed in the first panicky weeks after the diagnosis.

He was arrogant, didn't listen to me, or get facts correct. He was too busy "being on stage". He used foul language, thinking it was funny. Cancer is NOT funny, so l prefer a doctor not making jokes about it. to make it. It was the worst medical/doctor experience I've ever had. I was charged 4 times what my current, fabulously caring/kind oncologist charged me. And, I am not rushed out the door, or ignored, or looked down upon.

This Doctor thinks he is a supreme being, and does not communicate well with people that are educated. Definetly doesnt include the patient or family members in treatment plan and side effects. Practicing getting paid, your just a number.

Dr. Bloom demonstrated clearly that I, my thoughts, and my concerns, are important to him. He was cheerful (not in an overdone way), genuine, and an excellent communicator. He handled my case thoroughly. I would rate him as "stellar".
