Care Philosophy

Philosophically, Dr. Valentino has a conservative approach to the care of his patients and encourages non-surgical treatment first. This is in contrast to many other spine surgeons who may be biased toward spine surgery because of their limited experience with non-surgical treatment options.

Because Dr. Valentino is proficient with the use of spinal injections to relieve symptoms of a herniated disc, it enables him to explore non-surgical treatment options more so than other surgeons who aren't familiar with that specialty.

Dr. Valentino is a caring physician with a long track record of customizing care plans for his patients. This specialized spine care results in successful patient outcomes.

    Elmer, NJ |
I have had a bulging disc in my neck for years that has caused me excruciating nerve pain and carpal tunnel....I have had some success in pain relief with epidurals and came to Dr. Valentino's office in hopes of getting one, which much to my surprise I didn't receive. Dr. Valentino was the first doctor to take the time and effort to seek out the cause of my problem instead of masking it with an injection. Thanks to Dr. Valentino's care and concern for me, I now live pain free without injections.
    Bryn Mawr |
I saw Dr. Valentino for some neck pain. He was very thorough in our initial meeting, and recommended an epidural injection. I was scheduled within 2 weeks and his staff was very helpful with managing the timing of my procedure. Dr. Valentino's bedside manner is exactly what a patient needs: reassuring and considerate. I would happily recommend Dr. Valentino.
Bryn, Thank you for the positive review! We appreciate the feedback and are pleased to partner with you in your healthcare. Sincerely, Dr. Valentino and staff

A doctor with poor manner and no moral value. He is just a greedy doctor who wants your money.
We strive to provide excellent service and patient care. While we haven't been able to contact you personally and learn more details, given the opportunity, we would like to learn more about your experience. Please reach out to the office at your convenience. Sincerely, Michele Miller 610-265-5795

Dr Valentino is a very kind and compassionate Doctor. His office is well run, cutting edge and very professional. The staff were always very sympathetic and lifted my spirits every time I went there. Dr Valentinos dedication to perfection was seen from my initial evaluation straight through to my surgery and after care / follow up visits. My first appointment, I sat in the exam room for over an hour while the doctor talked to someone in the hallway. In the end, he said he saw nothing wrong with my back and it did turn out I had herniated discs.
We strive to provide excellent service and patient care. While we haven't been able to contact you personally and learn more details, given the opportunity, we would like to learn more about your experience. I found Dr. Valentino to be cold and insensitive to my condition. He spent every little time with me and was short and to the point when I inquired about alternative treatment modality for my spinal condition. I definitely would not of recommend him to anyone

    Dr. Valentino says...

The goal of spine treatment should be to get at the root of the problem, causing the least amount of disruption to the patient's lifestyle. Dr. Steven Valentino at Liberty Spine Care is experienced in developing comprehensive and invidividualized treatment plans that can help many patients return to activity without spine surgery. In most cases, spine surgery is a choice of last resort, after all nonsurgical methods have been exhausted, or when problems like severely herniated discs or damaged vertebrae simply will not respond to nonsurgical treatments. In fact, only a small percentage of patients seen in our office are surgical candidates. Dr. Valentino is able to take care of a simple back or neck strain as well as to care for complex spine surgical cases.
