Dr. Silverstein completed his subspecialty fellowship in corneal transplantation and external diseases at the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan, where he served as clinical professor.A board-certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Silverstein is active in a number of professional medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Midwest Cornea Society, the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, the Missouri Medical Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.Dr. Silverstein has published in many medical journals and lectures extensively around the world. He is an active philanthropist in Kansas City and a leader in various organizations including the Truman Heartland Foundation, The Rainbow Center, Operation Breakthrough, The Gift of Life and Rotary International. He is a Paul Harris fellow in charitable giving."
