Excellent surgeon; explained the surgery and expected outcome; listened and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Schopick and the Virginia Brain and Spine Center.

A friend that works as an Anesthesiologist that has watched him in surgery highly recommends him. He is a very cut and dry professional that will not sugar coat things or tell you things you want to hear just to make you Feel warm and fuzzy. But I elected to get an artificial disk replacement with him at the knife and could not be happier. Like New!! So glad I listened to his colleague Instead of the silly negative reviews about long waits or billing?? He's a top shelf Surgeon not a therapist.

I cannot see why I could not get a simple phone call to tell me he could not do anything for me. Why did he accept for for a patient then and make me drive for an hour and charge me 400 dollars for 4 minutes. Oh that's right it was the money does not matter that I could not even afford the gas to get there. This is how medicaid, medicare and all other ins's is so costly.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

Thank you for providing feedback or reviewing my profile. My goal is to provide expert and compassionate care to everyone who seeks my advice. The feedback has been very enlightening and has helped me to become a better physician.

Although I am primarily a surgeon, the vast majority of patients that I see do not need surgery - there are a lot of complex factors that determine whether such an invasive treatment is truly the best option.  Regardless, I can always educate my patients on the likely cause of their symptoms, the potential treatment options, and when surgery is or isn't indicated. I hope that when a patient leaves my office or sees me in the hospital that they know I am working hard to do what is in their best interest at all times.

I would encourage anyone who has a negative experience to contact my office directly and speak with my office manager or leave feedback on our website or Facebook page - this will allow me to directly address your concerns.
