Did a great job for me,

I think Dr. Houser is competent, but I was rushed through my visit, and he had nothing to offer for the problem I came in for. He also didn't let me know that a procedure he did in the office would incur significant charges. I would never go back to him, because Metro charges hospital fees in addition to doctor's fees, so I paid a lot of a fruitless visit. Also, it's impossible to call the Dr.'s office; you have to call a generic Metro answering service if you have a question.
Dr houser has taken care of our 6 year old since she was 3....he is gentle, caring and compassionate. He explains everything thoroughly so you can understand and takes time to answer your questions!!

Dr. Houser's Care Philosophy

I strive to treat the "whole" nose and sinuses - both medical and surgical. I specialize in nasal diseases: allergy, sinus disease; also specializing in treating sleep apnea; I treat Empty Nose Syndrome as well (a rare iatrogenic disorder)

Dr. Houser says...

I am one of the few physicians in the world that treats Empty Nose Syndrome. This rare iatrogenic condition occurs in a small subset of patients that undergo turbinate destruction/excision. It is characterized by paradoxical obstruction - the patient feels as though they cannot breathe per nose, yet on exam they are wide open. They often complain of suffocation.

I am able to implant ENS patients with alloderm to build up tissue into "neo-turbinates'"

As this is considered experimental surgery, insurance does not cover it.

Facial pain after nasal surgery is not ENS, and I ask chronic pain patients to seek a pain specialist. Unfortunately, the internet often leads people to believe that pain is ENS.

Dr. Houser says...

Septal perforation repair is an area that I engage in as well. Some holes are too large to fix, but utilizing acellular dermal tissue and a septal flap I can close many perforations.

If you fo to youtube and search for "houser sinus" you will find videos I have created. Many of the videos deal with surgery for chronic sinusitis.

Dr. Houser says...

I really appreciate the positive feedback from patients. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in patients' lives.
