Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Glickel "My practice philosophy is to treat all patients as I would want members of my family treated. I carefully listen to the patient's history and do a meticulous examination of the affected hand, wrist or elbow. Once I formulate a diagnosis, I consider all of the treatment options. Although I am a surgeon, the majority of patients that I see have problems that are amenable to non operative treatment which includes therapy, splints, exercise and medication. Some problems do not respond to conservative treatment and require surgery. For those problems I bring nearly 30 years of experience to the operating room to perform the simplest and most specific procedure possible to correct the problem. My goal is to restore function and return patients to their lives and activities as rapidly as possible."

From beginning to end it was wonderful. Dr. Glickel is a true expert in his field, the office was run very well and my physical therapy, next door, was excellent and convenient. I highly recommend Dr. Glickel and his organization.

I have been treated by Dr. Glickel for years for basal joint arthritis of the right thumb. I was very reluctant to get surgery because my hobby is guitar playing. He repaired a very challenging problem in my thumb that caused me pain for many years--one that other surgeons were reticent to address. He is thoughtful and attentive. He is a man of tremendous experience in his field. I recommend him without the slightest reservation.
