Dr. Glickel's Care Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to treat all patients as I would want members of my family treated. I carefully listen to the patient's history and do a meticulous examination of the affected hand, wrist or elbow. Once I formulate a diagnosis, I consider all of the treatment options. Although I am a surgeon, the majority of patients that I see have problems that are amenable to non operative treatment which includes therapy, splints, exercise and medication. Some problems do not respond to conservative treatment and require surgery. For those problems I bring nearly 30 years of experience to the operating room to perform the simplest and most specific procedure possible to correct the problem. My goal is to restore function and return patients to their lives and activities as rapidly as possible.

Dr. Glickel is the real deal. Besides being highly credentialed, experienced -- and exceedingly smart -- he has a caring bedside manner and takes time to explain his diagnosis and how to approach treatment. His staff is knowledgeable, friendly -- and very helpful.

When I needed to see a hand doctor I asked a number of friend's in NY, friends who usually have varying opinions on everything, and yet when it came to a hand doctor, all agreed that Dr. Glickel was the best around. After an overwhelming endorsement like that I made an appointment and went to see him...they were right, he is the best hand doctor around. He diagnosed my issue, I returned, he operated and had me out the door all effortlessly. His entire staff is wonderful! I recommend them all.
