I was scared and facing a full hysterectomy at 44 with removal of my ovaries.m due to severe anemia and the possibility of a cancerous tumor. He made sure I had the best surgical care and follow up care! His office of nurses were outstanding! I was able to contact them directly if needed. It sure relaxed me having them in my corner. I’d recommend Dr. Elg to anyone!

He is such a nice caring man.im 72 and was scared of surgery and how much cancer there was. He was so gentle and kind. It took less time than expected he went to tell my daughter and pastor. He came to see me 3times in the 24 hours i was there. I have been in no pain since 12 hours after surgery . I feel God put this wonderful surgeon in my life to heal me and let me have a great life cancer free. Bless you Dr. Elg and thank you.

Hands down the worst doctor I've come across in my lifetime. Horrible bedside manner, zero empathy, and did not give me any information regarding my care even when asked. I would not recommend anyone to see him.

In 2012 my sister was referred to Immc and ended up with Dr. Elg and her life has been a terrible struggle since he sliced away on her so much she ended up with what he said would be a "temporary iliostomy which would be only for 3 months. He then passed her off to a GI surgeon to give her a permanent colostomy., She ended up having 4 surgeries when she thought she was having a procedure for Pagets dispense. (. Benign) She has so much trouble with her colostomy she can't even travel far.

Recently had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Dr Elg explained things, answered all my questions, and was available for follow ups as needed. He's intelligent, caring, kind, & compassionate. His nursing staff is top notch also. I highly recommend Dr Elg.

RUN! I was sent to Dr. Elg when I was facing a diagnosis of endometrial cancer and needed a hysterectomy at the age of 40. Dr. Elg is at the end of his career and is not interested in listening to patient concerns or in being innovative. I felt uncomfortable when he could not give me a straight answer about trying to save my ovaries and I was disgusted when there was a trash can overflowing with used speculums in the exam room. His nurse Kathy was very rude when scheduling. Go to Iowa City!

Dr. Elg is the kindest, most dedicated doctor I?ve encountered. When my regular doctor identified a lemon-sized tumor on my ovary, she was too busy to biopsy it. Two months later, when my insurance cycle began again (and I had to start over on my deductible) and she STILL hadn?t seen me, Dr. Elg was kind enough to read my X-rays. I lived in another state so he found a surgeon that would see me right away. He had nothing to gain from helping me. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Elg is an amazing doctor. In addition to being intelligent, he's a genuinely nice person who cares about his patients. His staff is just as nice & caring as he. I trusted him & even my kids liked him! Defininently a doctor you can trust, as well as a doctor who treats you with care & respect.
