Dr. Pereira is fine and professional; however, his staff is very rude and unprofessional. They should not be dealing with patients. Terrible staff that unfortunately soils te doctor's reputation.
Dr Pereira repaired my inguinal hernia laparoscopically in a morning. I was back to work in a week, and can’t say enough about how professionally everything was handled, from appointments, to scheduling, to the procedure itself. When a nurse at the hospital told me ‘He’s the Best, and I love working with him’, I had a feeling I was in good hands. Highly recommended.
Dr. Pereira and his staff are professional and compassionate. I was experiencing very painful esophageal spasms and could not swallow. Immediately following surgery, I felt relief. Now 6 weeks post surgery, I am completely back to myself and able to eat and swallow normally. Can’t thank Dr. Pereira enough!
Be warned. Stay away. Terrible staff - Office will loose your documents and than claim never received. They will lie to you about hospital availability and you will end up waiting for months for the surgery.
I would very much recommend Dr. Pereira for surgery. Mine went very well no medications were needed for pain. Hackensack Hospital has the best, most caring nurses I've come across.

I came to Dr. Pereira for a hernia repair, he answered all of my questions and gave me all the answers i needed I was absolutely pleased with the results post surgery no scarring also the staff at his office was very nice and welcoming. Dr Pereira i would recommend to all in the new jersey area
Excellent endoscopic repair of inguinal hernia. Virtually no recovery pain, only needed a few Tylenols the first three days. Vanguard Surgical took my Medicare Advantage plan, and had excellent anesthesiologists on call. The patient does have the burden of organizing the pre-admission testing completion, which a hospital usually does for you.
Class act surgeon. Very knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I had a large and complicated surgical hernia that Dr Pereira repaired with skill and patience. At 2 weeks post surgery I'm healing nicely. Heard from every nurse on the floor that Pereira is "the best" surgeon. My experience just validates what everyone else is saying.
Are you kidding. This guy is the most competent cutter out there. I have and would continue to put my Life in his hands.
And I have dealt with him after he has done 16 hours of surgery and he is sharper then I then I am at my best A good man
Stephen Pereira MD who has been doing & teaching robotic surgery since 2000. He has had done countless numbers of minimally invasive inguinal hernia repairs both both laparoscopic and robot assisted. Results were FANTASTIC… did not even have to take any pain meds... even able to do work at my computer the afternoon of surgery & everyday after. 3.5 weeks post surgery I am walking on treadmill & functioning quite normally as prior to surgery & I do not have the hernia & feeling great!

Treated my sister waiting for biopsy horribly. He kept her waiting for hours while he operated at another outpatient facility and had her scheduled at the same time.
