I grew up in Eastland, Texas. I received my college degree from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor's degree with honors. I went to medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch located in Galveston, TX. It is Texas' oldest medical school. I graduated in the top quartile of my class. I did my post-graduate training doing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa and became board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1982. I have extensive experience both in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and have practiced in Abilene, Texas since 1989.
