Dr. Helgemo treated me for a severe case of Deupertren's Contracture. Since my case was severe he didn't make a promise my pinky would be better. Once he started the procedure my finger started to immediately straighten. Excellent hand surgeon who is an expert in his medical craft. Professional, friendly and caring. Couldn't ask for a better hand surgeon.

I saw Dr. Helgemo for a problem with my hand and I found him to be friendly, knowledgeable and proficient. He examined my hand, provided me with information, prescribed a compression splint and asked me to keep in touch concerning the results. I left his office feeling very good about the whole experience.

Great surgeon, bed side manners and staff. Did what other hand surgeons said was not possible. Had Dupuytren needle surgery on both ring fingers over 3 days. Avoided major hand surgery.

Friendly office ladies make your visit very pleasant. Thank you Shanna and Briony. ????? Five star doctor. Can't say enough good things about this doctor.

I wouldn't recommend seeing this doctor. I've got a small cyst on my wrist, & extreme pain since October 9, 2015. I've been wearing a brace since I went to the ER 4 days after I injured it. I keep it off for about 5 hours every Saturday morning, & it hurts to do anything. This doctor declares he's stumped, & doesn't know what to do. All he did was look, listen, talk, & may me pay a fee. All he said to for it is therapy which I do at home with exercise videos online. I'm very upset with this!
I'm very sorry that I wasn't able to help this patient. If I can't figure out the problem, I am unable to offer a treatment. Fortunately it doesn't happen often.

Sent to Dr Helgemo-workers comp. injury. After surgery snapped That's impossible when I tried to tell him finger wouldn't bend. Ignored 2 PT recommendations=needed silver ring splint. Refused= unnecessary ins. expense. After YEAR of suffering w/finger not bending, & writing my attorney, I was ordered to return to him. He 'suddenly' found that slight pressure at the base of finger = allow me to consistently bend it. He said I should buy myself a ring. Now have partial use of finger.
I'm sorry for the troubles this patient has experienced. She came in with what appeared to be a severe case of a common problem and I aggressively attempted to fix her problem. I am a thorough, caring, and conscientious physician and this patient's clinical course was unexpected. I tried everything reasonable to rectify her problems, but in the end was not completely successful. I was forthcoming with the patient about this, and feel bad that we didn't resolve her problem to her satisfaction.
