I couldn’t be happier with Dr Cummings. He did a right knee replacement, and I’m way ahead of schedule with my recovery, I’m sure largely due to his skill. My second knee is scheduled for June. Recommend without hesitation. Kind person, skilled surgeon. Unbeatable combination

Dr. Cummings is a true professional. What stands out most is how absolutely caring he is with his patients. I have met some of his other patients and the story is quite consistent. Dr. Cummings listens and makes clear judgement, taking his time to listen to your issue, makes a sound and honest decision which will best fit your needs, and then executes seamlessly. Dr. Cummings has given me back my active lifestyle and I couldn’t be more grateful. His team is awesome too!

I have a family history of arthritis that literally crippled my mother and grandmother. I would be the same if not for Dr. Cummings- he has replaced two shoulders and a knee for me and changed my life. No more pain and I have my life back. He is the BEST! We are so lucky to have him right here in Williamsburg! Thank you, Dr. Cummings!

I certainly wouldn't have chosen to break my leg, but I feel really lucky that Dr. Cummings was on call that night to repair my very serious injury. His calm and competent demeanor was very welcome at a time of considerable stress, and I had a very good outcome from the surgery.

I saw Dr, Cummings for my hip pain after an awful experience with a Richmond doctor. I immediately felt at ease with him and knew that he was very committed to my health. I could not walk when I went to see him and was in intense pain. Now, I am 2 weeks out of a total hip replacement and I feel like a million bucks again. I am walking (pain-free) and feel like I have my life back. His staff is the best—kind, committed, and knowledgeable. I whole-heartedly would recommend him. He is excellent.

It has now been 2 years since I had my double knee replacement by Dr Cummings and I’m doing great. I’m climbing ladders and working everyday as an electrician. My only handicap is I can not kneel on my knees. My knees are not as good as what God gives us but I have my life back and I’m VERY happy. Use this doctor because I trust him!

After 15 years of a knee that basically made me a cripple, I was referred to Dr. Cummings. He had not yet moved to Virginia, but the recommendations came from physicians that I highly respected so I chose to wait. He did a full knee replacement in November 2014. Every previous knee surgeon said that I was too young. He did not, understanding my misery. My knee was trashed. I am now pain free for 3 years, can do anything. He returned my life to me. Forever grateful to Dr. Stephen Cummings.

Dr Cummings did a revision of one knee from a partial to a total knee replacement and then 4 months later a total knee replacement of my other knee. I am now pain free and can not say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Cummings and his office. I never felt rushed when I asked questions and always felt Dr. Cummings really cared about any concern I might have. Whenever I had a question, and would call his office, I would get a call back that day. Great doctor and office staff!

I have been seeing an orthopedic for over 15 years, with the same doctor caring for my knees for 13. That doctor retired, so I started seeing Dr. Cummings. In January, 2017, Dr. Cummings did a total left knee replacement, for which I have had a good outcome. Dr. Cummings is very professional, yet has a friendly manner; he provides the high quality of care; and he counsels not rush into surgery until all non-surgery options have been exhausted.

I will return after my surgery experience and report...but I have rarely had any doctor spend as much time discussing my problem and the different surgical options available to me. He looks you in the eye, he speaks to you with compassion and understanding. He is "real" and I left his office with my surgery scheduled and in complete confidence of his knowledge and abilities, as well as his concern for MY feelings and well-being.

I had been seeing a different doctor for some time as my knees have hurt me for over 15 years with little to no results. This doctor told me knee surgery could not be performed until I was ready to retire from my electrician job. The first time I went to Dr Commings office, he exrayed me and said I was past due a double knee replacement. Without any additional wasted time, he began scheduling me for testing prior to surgery. It went well and I'm a new man.
