Dr. Stephanie Arlis-Mayor, MD
Stephanie Arlis-Mayor, MD is Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. As a specialist in Primary Care Sports Medicine, she focuses on the non surgical musculoskeletal and medical problems of athletes. Care is customized to provide comprehensive management of the athlete at all skill levels, from weekend warrior to the elite athlete. Along with management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, she has a special expertise and interest in sports related concussion evaluation and management which includes special training in ImPACT neuropsychological testing. She also cares for patients with stress fractures, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and overuse injuries. She evaluates athletes for return to play decisions after injury or illness. She also performs pre-participation sports examinations and cares for athletes with acute or chronic medical illnesses that affect sports and fitness. Dr Arlis-Mayor graduated from Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson Medical College. She completed her residency in Family Practice at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University Medical School. She also served as Chief Resident in this program. She completed additional training and certification in Primary Care Sports Medicine. Dr Arlis-Mayor works at the national level as a team physician for USA Soccer and is currently working with the U19 Men's National Team. Locally, she is Head Team Physician for Yale College, and team doctor for University of New Haven, Albertus Magnus College, James Hillhouse High School, Wilbur Cross High School and West Haven High School. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale School of Medicine where she teaches resident physicians and medical students in primary care and sports medicine. She is also co-Chairman of the Connecticut State Medical Society committee on Medical Aspects of Sports Medicine. Dr Arlis-Mayor is also active in her community. She serves on the Board of Governors for New Haven County Medical Association. She is an active member of the Connecticut State Medical Society Committee on Medical Aspects of Sports Medicine. She is a founding member and Board Member of Project Access New Haven, a non profit organization that provides donated care to uninsured patients. She is a former coach of local youth soccer and continues to serve as an advisor to youth sports programs. She continues to play soccer with the Nutmeg Womens Soccer League.

I will guide my patients to appropriate therapy and safe, healthy return to play. Along with evaluating musculo-skeletal problems, I specialize in the care and management of woman athletes and athlete's with sport related concussions. In addition to my practice, I am a team physician for US Soccer, caring for the Men's and Women's National teams. I am also the Head team physician for all Yale College athletes and for four local high schools. I care for my patients with the same high quality, whether an elite international athlete or a weekend warrior.

As a Sports Medicine doctor, I have specialized training in evaluation and management of all sport related problems. I perform steroid joint injections, Synvisc and other Hyaluoronic acid injections, PrP (platelet rich plasma) for tendons or joints, treatment for muscle tears, musculoskeletal Ultrasound diagnosis and needle guided injection. I also perform  office based ImPACT neurocognitive testing for sport related concussion. Our office has  comprehensive physical therapy  with concussion therapy.
