Patients beware
Patients, be ware! You see the doctor at your initial appointment. I saw her at my second appointment too, but now I hear she isn't even doing that. After that you only ever see a nurse practitioner. I was hospitalized with Covid at Mercy South and my doctors treating me said they reached out to Dr. Kamat's office for a consultation and she never would call back. They recommended I get a different Rheumatologist for a second opinion. Dr. Kamat's office doesn't ALLOW second opinions- what!? if you have a second opinion you are booted out of the practice. This practice is BEAUTIFUL. Beware the shiny beads.Just because its beautiful, doesn't mean you will get good care. The turn over of staff should have been a clue. They do not care about the patients, they care about the money. I have recommended their office in the past, I can not, in good conscience, recommend them anymore.

No matter what you hear, don’t go!
Wouldn’t even take me as a patient and was told it was because I had already established myself as a patient with a past neurologist. What? No second opinions allowed? No changing doctors allowed ? I smell something fishy going on. I have a call in to BJC’ administration.

Abandoned in time of need
Have been with Dr. Kamat for close to 20 years. I brought a lot of patients to her. Then when she started her own company she only met with patients for the first visit after that only PAs saw patients and if you questioned one of them and wanted clarification from her she came in with attitude. Then I had a stroke and couldn’t make it in the office just yet and then Covid hit and she started doing telehealth calls well the PAs did anyway. Then when I needed her the most she informed me via her PA That she could no longer help me because she didn’t know when I would be back in the office and that I had to come every three months and she no longer did telehealth calls. My primary was shocked. He helped me find a doctor that would take me on without me doing an in office visit. He was shocked she would do patient abandonment like she did. All I can say is don’t get to sick it doesn’t work for her.

The doctor and staff have tripled in size. They no longer care about the patient’s well-being. They are only concerned about the almighty dollar. I was rudely treated. Well I can’t even say I was treated except for that I was treated poorly.

Inspite of me informing about my drug allergy, Dr. Kamat prescribed medicines that contained the drug. Luckily for me I cross-checked with a doctor in my extended family.

Second opinions are standard practice for me, which I always seek at some point for any long-term diagnosis I receive. Unfortunately, this office terminated me as a patient when I asked for my records to be sent to WUSTL Rheumatology for a second opinion. I did not have an appointment there yet because they have to review your records first. This office did not send my records, at least not in time to be included in WUSTL's case review, which was accepted based on records from a gastroenterologist that I haven't seen in almost 2 years. In retrospect, I am thankful this incident occurred because now I have a chance to benefit from a more reliable provider.

My initial visit with Dr. Kamat was great, she was awesome. They took my blood work and I had a follow up appointment two weeks later with the nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner went over all my blood work—given she is the expert I trust what she is saying and had no further questions. My primary doctor, who had referred me to Dr. Kamat, received my blood work results and had further questions. Dr. Kamat nor any of the nurse practitioners in her office will call or have called my primary back to discuss my results it’s been about 2+ months now. The receptionists at Dr. Kamats office stated multiple times to my primary doctors receptionist that someone would be in touch with me or my primary doctor to answer any further questions— no one ever called. . I’m sick of calling. It seems crazy to me that a doctor won’t call another doctor back to discuss questions about a patient. Taking my blood and business somewhere else. The receptionists at Dr. K’a have also not been very nice.

I went to Dr Kamats office 3 times and only got to see her on my 1st visit. The last 2 times I just left, no charge b/c I never saw the doctor. My ins. pays for Drs. She believes in leaving her assistant to take care of her patients. I believe it's the doctors duty to see their patients. Those assistants are not doctors. I was prescribed medication that broke me out in rashes, but when I asked if could see Dr Kamat about it I was told it was not a guarantee. I need a Dr to for my medical needs
