Kim, MD, MPH is a urologic oncologist at UH Cleveland Medical Center, and Associate Professor, Urology, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is also the Director of Robotic Surgery and Director of Kidney and Bladder Cancer for University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. His clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of genitourinary malignancies. He specializes in the surgical treatment of bladder, kidney, prostate, and testis cancer. He performs both robotic and open surgery for localized or locally advanced cancers. Dr. Kim's research focuses on improving the quality of care and health outcomes for patients diagnosed with prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. He also has research interests in shared decision-making and health services research. Dr. Kim was recently awarded a career development award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has been independently funded from the NIH to develop decision aids for men diagnosed with localized prostate cancer. He has published more than 100 manuscripts in outcomes research for genitourinary cancer and was awarded the Journal of Urology Best Reviewer Award in 2013. He was also named Assistant Editor for the Journal of Urology in 2017. Dr. Kim completed his undergraduate work at University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, and earned his Master of Public Health from University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois. He earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, Illinois, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Kim completed his residency in urology at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan and was a Research Scholar in the Healthcare Delivery and Research Program, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
