Dr. Shobha Joshi joined Ochsner Clinic Foundation as Director of Hepatology Research and Transplant Hepatologist in 2008. She received her medical degree from the University of Bombay, India, and completed her internal medicine training at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and LSU Affiliated Program. She completed a clinical and research gastroenterology fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. She was an Associate Professor of Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri, where she conducting research and cared for liver transplant and hepatology patients. She was involved in the development of a hepatitis B drug and has participated in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of hepatitis B, C and encephalopathy.
