Hurried Colonoscopy Procedure and Poor Report
My colonoscopy procedure and the report that followed did not match the very high expectations I had after my office visit. These are some of the items that I think could be handled more professionally: I would have liked to have been informed prior of the $300 charge for the pre-op office visit. I was disappointed that Dr Farooq was late arriving at my scheduled colonoscopy time and kept the staff and myself waiting for 15 minutes. It was obvious that he was rushed. According to Dr Farooq's report, the total procedure time was 11min 46 seconds. This is a very short time to do a thorough inspection of the entire colon. Both of my previous colonoscopies took between 30-40min. I was disappointed that Dr. Farooq did not take the time to briefly visit with me after the colonoscopy just to give me a brief overview of how things went and what he discovered as had been the practice during my previous colonoscopies. The report did not contain a numbered diagram of the colon nor descriptio

His nurses answered a phone while I was in the doctors office….NOT THE WAITING ROOM….but my office….AND HAD IT ON SPEAKER. I heard this gentleman’s name and what he is visiting for and how he needs to prepare. DURING MY VISIT! If that’s not frustrating then it’s surely a HIPPA VIOLATION. If I could do Zero stars I would. HIS NURSES FORGOT to collect my copay. I have voicemails quoting the word “FORGOT”. They NEVER informed me of the cost -which is over $100. Then called me at all hours (during work, before 9am waking me up, while I’m eating dinner) and NEVER once during lunch hour or 5 pm when the typical work day ends. When I finally got a hold of them-after being pushed to voicemail and put on hold forever- THE DOCTOR has the audacity to ARGUE that everything was done correctly by him and his nurses. I have voicemails of them apologizing for not collecting the copay. Obviously, they ARE NOT doing everything correctly. This office is Disappointing, upsetting, and frustrating.

Dr. Farooq was very professional, honest, and knowledgable. Easy to talk to you and made you very comfortable about a not-so-comfortable subject. Everyone in his office was the same. Hemorrhoid Surgery went so much better than I ever expected. Not pleasant the first couple days, but I followed everything Dr. Farooq told me to do and was up and ready to go with very little discomfort in less than a week. I would definitely recommend Dr. Farooq!
