Shilpa P. Saxena, M.D., is a board-certified family physician whose passion and purpose come to life through her experiences with education and patient empowerment. She has more than 10 years of experience practicing Integrated and Functional Medicine in her nationally recognized office, n1health SevaMed Institute, in Lutz, Florida.
Inspired to create a doctor's office that offered all the meaningful components of good patient care, she founded the n1Health SevaMed Institute. Her practical approach focuses on treating the root causes of illness, the solution to the chronic disease epidemic. Her patient outcomes have attracted the attention of local, national, and international patient and physician communities who are equally motivated to transition from a disease-based to a health-promoting healthcare system.
She has engaged with the Tampa-St. Petersburg business community to improve the health of corporate leaders and employees. She knows that both employers and employees are more successful the healthier they are. Simple lifestyle adjustments to reduce stress and to improve daily behaviors like eating and activity have been shown to improve not only a company's physical health but its fiscal health as well.
Dr. Saxena serves as Chief of Medicine for n1Health, a national network of physicians promising better lives through genuine doctor-patient relationships and a root cause approach to solving symptoms and diseases. A diverse teacher, she is a Fellow and Guest Faculty of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, Clinical Faculty with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), and Clinical Faculty at George Washington University. Supporting health-focused collaboration even further, she is working with medical students, residents, and physicians at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine Family Medicine and Community Health Department to introduce and advance the concepts of functional, integrative, and lifestyle medicine.
Dr. Saxena is co-author of a one-of-a-kind cookbook, The Ingredients Matter: India. Providing readers an understanding of why we develop food allergies and how we can eat our way to health deliciously, the book has been endorsed by healthcare leaders such as Dr. Andrew Weil. With a commitment to efficiency, simplicity and function, she created Group Visit Tool Kits, one of the most progressive practice management tools for doctors designed to teach them how to educate patients about lifestyle medicine. The kits are based on her famous group visits that have been done for over 5 years in her office, bringing people together, engaging them in education, and helping them reverse disease.
Dedicated to educate and empower people to find better health, she lectures at engagements internationally and domestically. With her famous "keep it simple" style and genuine passion, physicians, patients, and corporate audiences all discover the innovative knowledge to inspire real change for vibrant living!
