She did not explain the condition we had come to her for and when we asked questions, she was put out and would not elaborate, saying that the information was in a flyer she would print off. She was not gentle when treating the affected area and did not explain what she was doing. The treatment was not effective. She recommended follow-up but one visit was enough for us.

Terrible! Long story short- went in to have a couple of moles removed from my 4 year old and the scars and trama endured are much worst than the original moles! Just needed to have them scraped and next thing we know she is punching them! And to top it off the stitches were supposed to be dissolvable which they were not. The stitches were then left in too long and had to be dug out of my child’s legs! Worst dermatologist ever!

It was difficult scheduling the appointment. I had been told she was the best, so we worked it out. All for less than three minutes worth of "consultation". She brusquely told me my son had keratosis pilaris, it was extremely common, genetic, and there was nothing we could do. She handed me a flyer and rushed out of the room. I had to flag one of her assistants down to ask about what lotions or prescriptions we could try. She scheduled a follow-up, but I cancelled. What was there to follow up??

Waited 3 hours.... I’ll say it again: 3 hours with my one year old and the advice I got after all of that was terrible. My appointment was at 1:20 I got home at 6:30 pm ... all for nothing. When I called for directions they gave me directions to the wrong office - no worries they said we will still get you in. My baby was starving, I ran out diapers, I was frantically trying to get someone to pick up my daughter from school. I Was charged a late fee from my older daughters school and had to make

I should have read these reviews before scheduling with Dr. Vanderhooft. Our visit was a complete waste of time that left me feeling very disappointed in PCMC. She spent 2 minutes with us, had her MA give us a sheet of paper with info. She left before I could inquire about the best soap and lotion for my child's eczema. I asked the MA to flag her down, MA returned with a flyer on eczema. I inquired about the best sunscreen and was told "anything that is spf 30" by the MA. What a disappointment.

After waiting 5 weeks to be seen by Dr. Vanderhooft. I was extremely disappointed. Don't waste your time. She was rude and spent about 1 min with my son and I.

When you've reached a level of expertise that allows you to diagnose without even listening to the parent, perhaps it's time to move on. Beyond astonished with how presumptuous this doctor was. She DID NOT LISTEN to my concerns AT ALL. She had my child diagnosed before she walked in the door. ZERO STARS.

This was absolutely the biggest waste of money ever. I saw her for 5 minutes and she told me my son had eczema and would need steroids for 3 years. She assured me that nothing else would take the eczema away. She acted like she couldn't wait to get out the room. Then I got a bill for $250 for those 5 minutes. I also found that there are hundreds of solutions to steroids and my son does not have eczema today and has never used steroids before. I will never go back to this dr.
