Painless
I've been getting gel shots in my knees for years, but last year the shots were given by a technician and I experienced days of pain and stiffness post-shots. Dr. Palmer, however, gave a shot with none of the next-day issues. He also listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I am so glad that I saw him yesterday instead of an assistant.

Originally i was set up with an appointment with a different doc at Ortho. Turns out he wasn't a hip guy. Everybody at Ortho Illinois that day went over and above and actually got me in to see Dr. Palmer that day, awesome! Our first meeting was no nonsense he went over my x-rays clearly and tild me i needed a hip replacement and i agreed. Surgery was scheduled two weeks or so down the road. I am now post op, 6 days, i feel great getting around, mostly without aid of a cane or walker. Everything looks great and i can already tell just how much better im going to feel when im all healed up!! Thank you Ortho Illinois!!! I was very impressed with Dr. Palmer from the get go and still am. I would not hesitate to recommend him, in fact i alresdy have Thank you Dr. Palmer!!!

Find a new hobby? But … but … but…
This dr. Is HIGHLY recommended in our area and a very nice man. However, for me, a wasted appointment. After months of pain and difficulty driving due to pain, this dr. looked no further than the MRI I brought him. Called my knee issues the tennis elbow of the knee and told me to find a new hobby until it heeled. Since then, my new dr. who listened, discovered nerve entrapment and ordered a better quality MRI. I’m feeling hopeful for the first time in 7 months, but it’s not because of this dr.

First visit with Dr. Palmer
I was very pleased with everything today except your electronic portal which caused some frustration. But that is now resolved and I can concentrate on feeling good about my visit today. Dr. Palmer gave me a good explanation but at 71.5 years of age my memory is poor. I can't remember everything that he told me (sigh!). Joe Nowosielski

Dr. Palmer replaced my right hip 5 years ago, and now I am having left knee pain. After looking at x-rays taken today he said my knees are “like the knees of a teenager” and my knee pain is due to my left hip, which I was glad to hear as rehab is so much easier! Dr. Palmer and his staff are all great… so glad I decided to return to him.

I'm already bragging about Dr. Palmer. I put off hip replacement for a number of years because I could not find a surgeon that I liked. Yes, I'm picky, and I believe that you need to like the person you are trusting your health to. In at 9AM, out at 6PM. Knew there was no more hip pain shortly after waking. Three weeks out and I'm walking. I use a walker if I'm out, or sometimes a cane. At home I often walk unassisted. Another three weeks and I be good as new.
