A CT scan showed large mucinous masses attached to my ovaries and I underwent surgery by an oncologist who specializes in ovarian cancer to remove them. During surgery it was discovered that the cancer had started in my appendix, requiing a specialist in rare cancers such as PMP which I was diagnosed with. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Roy-Chowdhury who practices very close to me and is highly specialized in rare cancers such as mine. Upon meeting her I knew I was in capable hands. She explained everything clearly, thoroughly and gently. It was a long, complicated surgery: CRS followed by HIPEC. I have nothing but praise for her also after the surgery. She was there checking up on me showing great concern for my many days in ICU, making sure any decisions they made went through her first. I have followed up with her on several occasions since then and she always answers our questions thoroughly and professionally.

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. I had 2 needle biopsies that could not get enough tissue to determine my type of cancer. I was referred to Dr. Chowdhury. She was a blessing. She explained everything she would be doing in detail and answered all our questions. She totally put us at ease. She has a great beside manner and personality. She even recommended an Oncologist who turned out to be a blessing as well. She was able to get the tissue samples needed to tell what type of cancer I had so I could get started on chemo. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Chowdhury. I recommend her to anyone who is facing uncertainty and needs a caring dr.

I'm a 80 year old male and this was my first surgery. I have been in hospitals before but not for a surgery. My PCP highly recommended Dr. R-C because she had saved the PCP's husband's life with a 10 hour surgery. My CT scan had indicated possible problems with my heart, so both required a treadmill EKG. I passed without a problem. As the heart surgeon was giving me the results, she asked who would be the surgeon. I told her Dr. R-C. The Cardiologist said that she knew her and felt she was a top-notch surgeon. So I went into my surgery with total peace of mind. She informed me of what to expect, performed well, and even gave my wife an update of the operation while I was in recovery. Her follow-up visits were very professional and very personal. She responded quickly to our questions and any concerns. We could not be more satisfied with her service and our relationship. Dr. Roy-Chowdhury has now become like a family friend.

Dr. Roy Chowdhury saw my mother in the hospital, soon after she was diagnosed with cancer. She was very thorough and explained all the test results in terms that we could understand.
