Dr Marek got me into be scoped in very short order during the COVID 19 crisis due to my severe symptoms including pain and real difficulty swallowing. He could not have been nicer, more concerned or professional. He performed the scope and got right back with me with the biopsy results. Thankfully no cancer but I required follow up which he promptly addressed. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

I have been seeing Dr. Marek for several years and can't say enough about him. He has truly saved my life. He talked me into finally having the procedure that I was so scared to have by outlining exactly what he would do and what the experience would be like in an understandable and caring manner. I am SO GLAD that he did. As much as it hurts me to say, HE WAS RIGHT! I had a large mass and he was able to remove the entire mass during my scope and I didn't need any surgery! I went to see an oncologist who couldn't believe that Dr. Marek was able to remove the mass and she told me that most other gastroenterologists wouldn't even have attempted removal. I needed no further treatment and am cancer free because of this man and his personable bedside manner! I am so thankful to have found him and refer him to as many people as I can.

I first saw Dr. Marek in 2011. At that time, he was the most caring, sensitive, and personable doctor I had ever had the opportunity of meeting. I am a 66 year old woman who has had some serious health issues, including but not limited to cancer, and I saw Dr. Marek for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Long story short, I have no idea what has happened to him; he has turned into a heartless, uncaring, pompous physician, and his medical assistant is equally as aloof. I was so distraught by his treatment of me, that I found another gastroenterologist. Very, very disappointing. Don’t bother going to this man.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Marek. He was a little condescending about taking natural laxatives. I had major stomach pain so he scheduled a colonoscopy which I waited over a month to have done.. I got severely sick during the prep and was throwing up “brown” liquid! Went to the ER room at 2am.. was sent home by the ER.. So instead of Dr. Marek’s office calling me in to the office after that ASAP they called and told me to drink more Miralax and schedule another colonoscopy. Seriously?? I wound up having a tumor in my colon the size of an orange. It is stage 3 verging on Stage 4. Thank the Lord I found a GI Dr. in Austin that was very concerned and found the tumor.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Marek. He sat down and honestly listened to me about my ongoing problem with recurring bouts of diverticulitis and came up with a plan forward. I look very forward to a life where I am not having to worry about when is it going to happen to me again and for that I am very grateful to Dr. Marek and his staff.

The office was clean and staff very professional. As I waited for my consultation with Dr. Marek the time was slipping by and 40mins later Dr. Marek came in, very politely introduced himself and the next words out of his mouth were “I’m so sorry for keeping you waiting”.....I’m 64 and NEVER had a Doctor say those words to me before. I said how much I appreciated his consideration for my time and that I understood a physicians schedule can be very unpredictable. He was very thorough as well. !!

Absolutely amazing experience. Over the years, I have seen quite a few gastroenterologists for my issues, but I have never had anyone sit and listen and discuss options with me like Dr. Marek has. After only 2 visits, I am now feeling better than I have in 10 years! I recommend him to everyone I know that needs a fantastic Gastroenterologist

After years of agonizing illness and unpleasant and invasive colonoscopies, another doctor recommended I try a different GI specialist. On the first visit with the new GI, she ran blood work and stool samples and found out what the problem was. When I contacted Dr. Marek's office I was told there was no reason for them to do a stool sample. Hmmm except for the fact that it could have saved me years of dealing with a horrendous and contagious disease!!!!
