Carpenter is a fellowship-trained Shoulder and Elbow surgeon with OrthoKC located in Kansas City, KS serving Wyandotte and Johnson counties and the surrounding areas. She is originally from the Destin, FL, but has been fortunate to travel all over the country for her training prior to settling down in Kansas City. During her training, Dr. Carpenter performed in a variety of mentoring and leadership roles. In particular she enjoys working with underpriveledged youth and encouraging them to participate in S.T.E.M. type activities. She is an active member of the Perry Initiative, a project which encourages women to pursue careers in engineering or orthopedic surgery. She has been an active presenter of professional papers and posters at the regional and national level. She has completed numerous research projects and grant studies within her field, activities which contribute to her knowledge and expertise in the latest orthopedic treatments and procedures. She has written several book chapters covering topics such as: Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, Stemless shoulder arthroplasty, Triceps tendon repairs, and Rehabiliation after LUCL reconstruction. She has a special interest in patient safety and quality improvement, and has participated on councils in the past working to improve healthcare and the overall patient experience. Dr. Carpenter is an AOA Emerging Leader and member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Mid-America Orthopaedic Society and the American Medical Association."
