Dr. Hampton's bio
This content was provided by Dr. Hampton "My name is Sean Hampton and I currently live in Altoona, PA. I graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. I chose the field of Family Medicine. I decided to go into Osteopathic Medicine secondary to my strong interest in manipulative therapy. I have an interest in nutrition and exercise to better your overall state of health. I believe an integrative approach to health is essential; such an approach can not only treat disease but help prevent it. I also practice traditional medicine; I prescribe medications and take care of my patients in both an inpatient as well as an outpatient setting. I really enjoy taking care of my patients in both venues. In addition, I am fully trained to work in the emergency department and I used to spend approximately one weekend a month within an emergency room setting. This schedule was difficult to maintain with a full outpatient practice but I try to maintain this skill set as much as possible. I am trained in both ACLS (Advanced Cardiac LIfe Support) as well as ATLS (Advanced Trauma LIfe Support); this training has prepared me well to take care of my patients to the best of my ability. I hope to further my training in the future with a degree in medical acupuncture as well as additional certifications in prolotherapy. There are many more facets to my personal as well as my professional life. Briefly, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, as well as snowboarding. I try to live the same life that I preach to my patients by eating healthy and staying active on a daily basis. "
