BEWARE Terrible Doctor
Absolutely terrible surgeon and person. My mother spent weeks in the hospital after a "routine" intestinal surgery went wrong. Dr. Strong could care less about the questions and concerns we had. You have to threaten to get lawyers involved just to get a call back from his office. Even with her at home care nurse, wound specialist and primary care doctors have reached out to him with concerns about her health, he does not return a call. The worst thing about it is, none of her other doctors can treat her efficiently because they all need her to see him before they can do anything. From the bottom my heart I urge to listen to these reviews and find another doctor

I would not recommend Dr. Strong. I am an RN and Dr. Strong operated on my mother 2 years ago. While inpatient after the surgery, she became septic. The autopsy showed intestinal wound not properly closed. I regret not seeking second opinion as I trusted his credentials and highly rated experience as a colorectal surgeon. He showed no empathy, did not even approach me or my family when they said nothing else could be done, it was the residents speaking to me. He always looked rushed, this happened at Northwestern Memorial.

He changed my life. Amazing surgeon. Doctors in Chicago botched me and be fixed me and I’m much healthier now. He isn’t super warm and fuzzy but he is an amazing surgeon.

Not only is Dr. Strong an exceptional surgeon, he is a wonderful human being as well. Until my appointment with Dr. Strong in June 2016, I seriously considered not having a life saving colostomy for stage 3 colorectal cancer. I found him to be extremely intelligent, kind and humble. I thanked God he had moved to Northwestern Hospital in 2015. I knew immediately I could put my life in his hands. I am living longer than expected even with metastatic cancer. I am grateful he (his team) had given me additional life to reflect and appreciate the simple joy of life and the love of my husband and life long friends.

I can’t say enough good about Dr. Strong. I was referred to him after months of hospitalization and being told there was nothing else that could be done to help me. I was wasting away weighing only 76 lbs ay 5’3”. In the expert care of Dr. Strong and through a series of surgeries, I was to return home and have normal digestion, and am back to my normal weight. Not only was Dr. Strong a miracle worker in the operating room, he showed genuine concern, answered all our questions. Hes #1 in my book!

Not affable, and easily offended when patients advocate for themselves. My appointment with gastro-specialist Dr. Strong started by having him tell me that he didn't have time to look at the CT images I brought to the appointment, as that would cut into the allowed 40 minute appointment time, and ended with him giving me his opinion that I have limited/no surgical options - all without reviewing any CT images or utilizing any diagnostic procedures to verify intestinal tissue functioning.

I was a patient of Dr. Strong at Cleveland Clinic. He performed colon-rectal surgery. 4 days later I was septic. He admitted he did not close my wound correctly. I TNP fed for 6 months. After exam he felt I was healed. Further testing showed nothing had healed. I fired him & chose another doctor. I am 3 years post surgery & will need a procedure to keep my colon open for the rest of my life. He had a horrible attitude. We were disappointed in him and I suffered terribly due to him.
