This content was provided by Dr. Mayhew "Dr. Scott Mayhew completed his Interventional Pain Management fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, an ACGME accredited Anesthesia based program in Manhattan. He is board certified in Pain Management and Emergency Medicine. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University/GRMEP. Having taken care of thousands of patients with all types of pain during his 11 years as an Emergency Physician uniquely qaulified him for pain fellowship training, and gives him a broad and unique background in Pain Management. Dr. Mayhew is located at our Socastee Primary Care Center which is located at 4591 Socastee Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. He practices Interventional Pain Management exclusively, specializing in minimally invasive treatment modalities for sciatica, lower back pain, spinal stenosis, neck pain, joint pain, and spinal pain of multiple origins. He also treats painful peripheral neuropathies such as occipital neuralgia, lateral femoral cutaneous (skin) neuralgia, facial neuralgias, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), migraines and other intractable pain syndromes. Dr. Mayhew has been trained in the latest state-of-the-art therapeutic options, including but not limited to minimally invasive spinal surgery, epiderals, nerve blocks, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation for pain management. Dr. Mayhew is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Pain Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, as well as the American Board of Emergency Medicine."

This may utilize many different treatment options, each of which is an important part of improving pain, suffering, function and the enjoyment of one's life. The best results are obtained when the treatment team is caring and compassionate about easing the suffering the patient.

Dr, Mayhew has been the only Doctor that has been willing to help me with my RSD. I have nerve damage to my left leg from knee down and have not been able to get a doctor to work on my left knee, Dr. Mayhew didn't even hesitate to do injection in both my knee's, and I've been like this for 6 years....more

Coming to a new area, I was nervous about finding a new Pain Specialist. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to discuss your condition in detail. The procedure he performed for me was far less painful than I expected. He took his time and explained everything along the way.
