Dr Maurer has been my PCP since the 90s. He has a great bedside manner and truly cares about his patient’s wellbeing. He always follows up on tests and is a great, professional physician. He shows care, concern and compassion for his patients.

Having this man as your PCP is the last thing you want. His practice is like an assembly line. He doesn't care about his patients and it definitely shows. He has far too many patients, so he will only spend about 5-10 minutes with you. To say the appointments are rushed is an understatement. He won't listen to what you have to say and seems to get annoyed if you ask questions. From my experience, the diagnoses he made were often incorrect. He is arrogant and has a poor bedside manner. Your PCP is supposed to coordinate your care across specialists and hospital visits; I found myself coordinating my own care and being my only advocate. He seems to view his patients more as a "nuisance" than anything else.

I have been seeing Dr. Maurer for probably fifteen years and I can honestly say he has been the best PCP I have ever had. He is very thorough and a good listener. I am able to get an appointment when needed. He also uses a patient portal which is very helpful with the exchange of information.

As a PCP - Dr. M should get zero stars. His lack of concern & follow-up is terrible. He shows no interest in coordinating care with other specialists; does no follow up with the patient or the specialist; when asked questions regarding something he does not personal handle (like diabetes) his response is he does not handle that, but provides no recommendation or referral to a specialist; will even suggest you go to the ER, but does NO follow-up to see WHAT happened; was the patient admitted; HOW they are doing etc. He spends 5 to 10 min with you once or twice a yr - tells you he has no time to discuss something and basically just refills scripts. He is not & has never been the point person helping you MANAGE any part of your health, nor does he seem to have the time or the desire to do so. Not once in the last 5+ yr. has he ever followed up on a visit with a specialist; hospital stay etc. & will even claim they never sent him a report. To call himself a PCP is a joke.

MF Woodbine MD – Jan 14, 2020
We had Dr. Maurer as our primary physician during the 10 yrs. we were in Glenwood. His care was always very thoughtful and thorough. His staff is very welcoming and they made us feel comfortable. While generally no one likes to have to see a doctor, this is one, fine place to get great care, should that visit be necessary!

Been seeing him for the past ten years. Consistently thoughtful, knowledgeable and caring. Spends a good deal of time during the appointment and obtains a good understanding of health issues. Highest recommendation. My wife and I will go nowhere else.

Dr. Scott Maurer administered a flu shot to my elderly mother without her permission. This is not a professional Dr., also after test results from a simple blood test sat in his office for over 2 weeks with no call back, multiple requests had to be made to find out those results, both staff and doctor are completely unprofessional and to be avoided.

Had a great initial visit with Dr. Maurer. Enjoyed his straightforward manner peppered with a dash of humor. His office staff and nurse are all congenial, caring people, too. Wish more physicians still practiced this way.

Dr. Maurer is a class act. A few months ago I had a scare after receiving the results of an abdominal untrasound. The doc called me ASAP and gave me an order for an MRI for a more detailed look. I had the MRI on a Friday and doc M called me the next day, a Saturday, to tell me the MRI showed no disease. He called me from home on Saturday so I wouldn't be worried about it for the rest of the weekend. BONUS! He has a great sense of humor!
