Dr. Martin told me surgery was the only option for my hip labrum tear. After surgery he insisted that I did not need to do PT and would not answer any follow up questions via phone or email.. When I went in for follow ups he wouldn't even sit down in the room he was in such a rush to get the appointment over with and dismissed all concerns. 10 months after surgery I re-tore my labrum and every other Dr. and PT person I saw says it was almost definitely because I did not do PT after surgery.
Boston, MA |
Worst Dr Iv ever seen! Had to file a formal complaint! He was supposed to be the best labral tear specialist in the tri state area! At 1st seemed interested w helping me heal! I let him know I was a very athletic n taught yoga for 7 yrs, yet can't put a sock on my own foot! I wanted a realistic answer to if I can ever get back function,he never could reply to! Aftr a yr of RX PT 4xs a wk I did religiously! He says he can no longer help me! Says I'm fat n can only refer me too bariatric surgery
Dr. Martin has been an excellent doctor in the past. Now it seems he is to busy (?) to answer questions or even email me back thru the MGH portal. He also said he doesn't want to see me again because I was unprepared for the shot! I couldn't believe it...I have been in constant pain for 2+ weeks with the knee NOT getting better.

Dr. Martin is an excellent surgeon and a compassionate caregiver. I have seen him for knee and shoulder issues and, frequently found the wait times long in the office but saw that being related to the time that he spent responding to patients' questions. His PA Bennett & Assistant Monica are also very helpful and skilled. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Martin & his team.
Natick, MA |
He is too busy and too uninterested to take care of his patients. Once he decides their is no surgical procedure to be done, he is unresponsive and dumps everything on his P.A, who cannot answer simple questions correctly.
in Brookline, ma |
Waited in the waiting room for 3 hours before bring seen. I would never make another appointment with Dr. Martin.
Charlestown, MA |
Dr. Martin seemed very nice at my initial consultation. But, since then I have not been impressed at all. He lacks in the areas of follow up and seems to dismiss patient calls. He has his secretary return calls- not even a nurse! He even refused to see me for reevaluation due to worsening pain. I have since sought out a different ortho who i am much happier with and who says the only thing that will cure my issue is surgery. I would not recommend Dr. Martin due to the lack of empathy & follow up
in Whitinsville, MA |
Dr. Martin will be repairing my ACL this month. He is a so knowledgeable, caring and easy to understand. His assistant Monica is so warm and personable. I felt like I was talking to one of my friends from the time I made the appointment through scheduling the surgery. They have my complete confidence and I'd highly recommend him. Dr.Martin was friendly, professional and charming. I felt completely confident in his ability to repair the 5 ligament rupture of my right knee due to a traffic accident. He could not have been more understanding, empathetic and supportive. He was happy to answer any questions I had and I never felt rushed. It was a privilege to have been his patient. Nicola Soye
