Wonderful Doctor
Dr. Knappenberger was very gentle with my care, really put me at ease. He’s also got a nice sense of humor, which I find is rare with doctors. He’s just got that great bedside manner. I recommend him highly, and I’m a nurse! :-)

Wonderful Doc-1 Horrible Front Desk Person
I've been a patient of Dr. K since~2011. He took his time explaining what was happening, that he took a conservative approach, we'd try everything before entertaining surgery. I trusted him fully. So much so, I changed my young son's ENT to Dr. K~2013. Dr. K was the go-to upon my 1 year old's ENT referral in 2022. One negative has remained consistent over the years, a front desk staff member has been awful, I'll call AF. Due to a legit emergency I had to cancel last min, willing to pay a fee if needed. A pleasant & helpful staffer answered, I'll call PH, but transferred me to AF due to computer issues just as our info pulled up. The call was dropped during the transfer, it happens. I waited 5 mins, called back. Lucky me, AF answered. I explained situation & that I had M-F off next week, if anything opened even last minute. AF cut me off 3 times, wouldn't allow reschedule during the call & that Dr. K was scheduled out thru May. Dr. K hire more PH. I don't want to call back & get AF!

took my 13 month old there for an issue with her ears, he was very rude to start off with, when he was cleaning out her ears he was sighing the whole time like it was an inconvenience. when we laid her down on the table to clean her ears out she rolled towards me and he grabbed her arm and YANKED her back towards him. I will NEVER recommend anyone to him. the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen. not to mention, he has the bedside manner of a wet sock.

Started seeing Meritas ENT 2016. Switched from other Dr in practice to Knappenberger in 2018. I explained I needed a Dr that would listen to me and thoroughly check my sinus’s each visit. I have been extremely happy with Knappenberger ever since. He is straight to the point with no frills and can come across sometimes as unconcerned. The truth is, he is a very concerned doctor and takes his profession very serious. He always takes time during appointments for treatment and I never feel rushed. I recently had sinus surgery. Due to my work schedule I could only schedule on a day he was going to be gone. So I left thinking I wouldn’t be able to have surgery. I received a phone call several days later saying he would come in for it. Really? I thought that says it all right there. Surgery went well. No pain. I recommend Dr Scott Knappenberger regularly.

I was nervous heading into the process. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Knappenberger from my initial consultation to the septoplasty itself and follow-up. Dr. Knappenberger shared: 1. Why my condition was a problem (deviated septum) 2. What could have caused the problem 3. How the problem was impacting my overall health 4. Options for treating the problem (including risks, percentage of risks and the basis of that information) The procedure was a success, but I was most taken by the Dr.'s ability to relay clear, fact-based information in an assertive manner - free of hyperbole or room for interpretation by someone who is not a Doctor (me). I knew exactly what I was up against after every conversation. The procedure was a success. The recovery was better than expected. What more could you ask for?

I took my 18 month old daughter to see Dr. Knappenberger for the first time for a consult on getting tubes in her ears. He was very professional and took his time with her. My daughter let him look in her ears without hesitation. Dr. K made sure that I was fully informed about the process and what to expect. After she had her hearing test he came back to verify that I had not thought of any other questions. I will be referring everyone to him.

Very rude. Told me a condition that I had been diagnosed by another ENT could not be. Because it wasn't cut, dry and very textbook it couldn't be that. Reading up on my condition by the foundation says that 40% of people do not have the textbook symptoms. Because of other autoimmune issues I have, I have never been textbook. He needs to go back to school and learn his craft and how to be polite.

This doctor is the reason why I've hated doctors for so long. He was very rude and everything that seemed to be bothering me wasn't a concern for him because I may have sleep apnea. The problems I'm having have nothing to do with if I'm getting enough sleep or not. I don't get enough sleep BECAUSE of these problems that he just decided weren't important. What was important was bashing me about be overweight and that's why I was having my throat issues. Very disappointed I wasted my time!!

Had Endoscopic Sinus Surgery 8/23/16 to correct and open blockage from another ENT's work from 15 months prior. Dr. Scott Knappenberger was completely thorough, accurate, offers options, up front about recoup time and process. He and his staff kept in contact with me after the surgery to ensure I was doing well. Wish every physician was like him!!
