Misdiagnosed
My wife saw Dr. Kay because of a horrible nasal drip and congestion after a tooth extraction. He sent her for a CT scan and told her everything was fine and the issue would resolve itself. Shortly thereafter she saw a different dentist who immediately sent her to an ENT who told her she had a severe sinus infection which would actually require surgery. She then saw an ENT surgeon at Weil Cornell where she underwent a four hour surgical procedure. All of the doctors said the sinuses were so infected that it was hard to believe an ENT would not have seen this.

Very courteous staff and especially Dr. Kay. Dr Kay explains clearly what the problem is. I am very impressed with the Audiologist Rach Elovic. She replies e mails and messages very promptly even on her day off. She goes out of her way to help whenever I have called.

I highly recommend Dr. Kay to any one in need of an ENT. I am extremely impressed by his examination of the whole patient, and not simply the specific issues at the time of each visit. He is extremely skilled, confident and precise. I have been one of his patients for almost 30 years and always felt as though I was receiving the finest care possible. Moreover, his referrals to other physicians have always been perfect; they are the best in their respective fields and, without question, the right medical professionals for the right medical issues. Dr. Kay sees well beyond his own specialty and, with his experience and insight, knows exactly when it is time to consult with another expert . . . the right expert. A+++

Everything great. I went after a year of increasing brain fog and recurrent sinus infections, and asked if it was a sinus problem to be fixed with surgery, or something worse. None of the above. It took some time and an MRI and a CAT scan, but the issue was some serious allergies, handled by the excellent allergist he sent me to. Many thanks to this surgeon with a great reputation, who chose not to cut.

Hard to know how to rate Dr. Kay. He was very good with 2 family members who needed a routine nosebleed cure, but he completely missed a simple diagnosis in a 3rd family member. He mistook her silent reflux condition for an anatomical problem and was leading her down the path toward completely unnecessary sinus surgery. A different ENT diagnosed her almost instantly through a normal clinical exam. The reviews on here are mostly good, but I still think this alarming experience was worth mentioning.

About three months ago, I noticed I had a hearing issue when David Muir started to mumble on the nightly news. Unfortunately, everyone else thought he spoke just fine. My GP suggested I see Dr. Stanley Kay and get a hearing test. I am very pleased with Dr. Kay and his staff. Dr. Brittany Pasquarello, a Doctor of Audiology, tested my hearing and indicated hearing aids would help. As many people, I associated hearing aids with really getting old … They are the best thing I ever did! Dr. “P” set them up perfectly on her computer to my specific hearing issues. They weigh absolutely nothing and you don’t know you are wearing them. Your hair covers them behind your ears and nobody notices them. You replace batteries once a week and change two small parts once a month. They are very easy to maintain. My grandson thinks they are really cool since I control the volume and batteries not to mention Bluetooth options on my iPhone. Don’t hesitate any longer. Try them. You will be amazed.

I lost hearing in the right side of my ear due to the flu this past winter (got the flu shot and it didn’t help). I found Dr. Scott Kay and his entire team—from the front desk receptionist, to his audiologists and assistants to be warm, friendly, and accommodating. Dr. Kay has an excellent bedside manner and was very helpful. After a few visits, my hearing is back. Thoroughly recommend him and his staff to anyone needing an ENT.

Dr. Kay is an outstanding professional, with excellent staff to support him. I have been going there for almost 8 years for various issues such as tinnitus, hearing loss, and most recently septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery. Everything has been great, he takes the time to explain, and I have full trust in his medical opinion and advice! He proactively tries to not only treat you, but to *help* you.

I was referred to Dr. Kay by a friend and strongly recommend him. Dr. Kay has performed surgery on and treated both me and my two young sons. He does not work local to me, but is well worth the travel. He gives great attention and care to his patients, taking the time to make sure that he correctly diagnoses and treats the current condition, and gives advice to prevent reoccurrence of the underlying condition. I also appreciate Dr. Kay's staff.

I have chronic, horrendous nose bleeds that requiring cauterizing to make them stop. Dr. Kay has always fit me in to his schedule so that I don't have to go to the ER. Not too many doctors are willing to take recurrent emergencies like that and it saves me money and a lot of time. I will always recommend Dr. Kay because he cares about his patients and he's a great doctor.

Knowledge, professionalism, understanding, and a genuine concern for his patients--but most importantly, experience. In addition, Dr. Kay has a personality that exudes confidence without losing his sense of humor. Dr. Scott L. Kay is highly recommended, and I'm glad I found him.
