At The Kelly Clinic, we believe strongly in the healing power of the patient-doctor relationshipand this is the cornerstone of our practice. Our patients are entitled to thorough, affordable, easily accessible, personalized medical care, and as one of our patients, you will always have access to quality, one-on-one time with your doctor regardless of your insurance coverage. Because we do not contract with traditional health insurance companies, our doctors are not influenced nor limited by corporate health guidelines: the suggestions and recommendations made by The Kelly Clinic are based purely on the best medical evidence in conjunction with the best interests of each individual patient.
Additionally, in our practice, we recognize that all patients are unique and special. Therefore, rather than employing a more traditional, disease-centered approach to healing, we focus on the individual as a whole not as a set of symptoms or diseases.
Undergraduate Education: University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia Medical School: University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, Nevada Internal Medicine Internship and Residency: Mayo Clinic Arizona, Scottsdale, Arizona Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency: University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Albuquerque, New Mexico Dr. Sarah Kelly, who is often compared to the television character "Dr. House" by her patients, enjoys providing clarity and answers to even the most complex medical cases. As a Mayo Clinic-trained, board certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Kelly earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where she was named the Most Outstanding Medical Student in Internal Medicine at graduation. She has been involved in numerous published clinical and basic science research projects and has recently begun authoring patient-centered medical articles and blogs. Although she has a strong interest in preventative medicine, primary care, and integrative medicine, Dr. Kelly has special expertise in the diagnosis and management of invisible disability, connective tissue disorders and, specifically, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a disease which she is affected by. After earning her medical degree in 2004, Dr. Kelly completed a three-year residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where"the best interest of the patient, is the only interest to be considered." (Dr. William J. Mayo). She then went on to complete a four-year residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of New Mexico in 2012. As a physician trained in two of the most fundamental medical specialities, Dr. Kelly is uniquely poised to tackle not only common diseases in adults and adolescents but also more complex or rare disorders. She enjoys taking a detail-oriented approach to the management of disease that allows for "outside the box" thinking and typically applies a holistic approach to traditional allopathic medicine. She is passionate and dedicated in her pursuit to always promote the "the best interest of the patient" regardless of the obstacles. When not working in the clinic, Dr. Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, Darby and Dean, and their many animals (including service dog, Maverick). She is also an amateur photographer and bird watcher. PERSONAL QUOTE FROM DR. SARAH KELLY: As a doctor with a poorly understood, invisible genetic disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I am uniquely able to understand the physical, emotional and spiritual struggles of my patients with chronic disease. As a result, I am fiercely dedicated to delivering quality, patient-centered medical care that makes a real, measurable difference in the lives of my patients.
